GL Optics Sigma 18-35 Rehoused - Group Buy

Very interested!!!
How do I sign up?

Very interested!!!
How do I sign up?

How it works:

1) Send me a pm or an email with the following information:

Real name / Company name; REDuser name; Contact email address; Paypal email address; Invoice address; Shipping address; Phone number; Mount of choice (PL / Canon / Nikon); Scale of choice (imperial or metric); Amount of lenses; Deposit (yes/no);

2) I'll collect all the orders and send them to Nan at GL optics.

3) Deadline for this group buy is September 15th midnight PDT.

4) GL optics will send you an invoice on Paypal after September 15th. The price depends on the number of ordered lenses. Shipment (80USD) is included in the price:

0-25 units = 3280 USD per lens
25-50 units = 3080 USD per lens
>50 units = 2880 USD per lens

5) There's also the option of a non-refundable deposit of 700USD. Since Nan can't be sure if some orders get canceled, and his funds are limited (well who doesn't have this problem), he can't start working on making the lenses before September 16th, when he sends out the invoices. So the option is that you make a non-refundable down payment and get in return one of the first delivered lenses.

6) Nan starts working on them soon, so the first lenses will be shipped in late September. If you order just before the deadline, you get your lens ~ mid / late November.

Again, you wont get charged before September 16th (unless you choose the deposit option). Paypal offers a money back guarantee, if the order is not fulfilled.

Please don't send me a conditional order like: "I'll order one, if we get more than 50 orders." You can send me always a message and ask how many orders are in, so that you can decide for yourself if you want to place an order or not.

Cheers
David

Question - In anticipation of a lens with a 95mm front end, can someone point me to the proper step-down / clamp ring for the RED Matte Box? I have a Chrosziel 110 to 80 adaptor for my 80mm lenses but, what I have found for 110 to 95 is this, which looks a little different:

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/364925-REG/chrosziel_c_411_41_410_41_110_95mm_step_down.html

Can anyone point me to the right one?

Thanks!

This Might Work,

David, could you take a stab at guesstimating when those of us who have paid deposits will receive our lenses? What's the latest ETA?

Thanks

Mike

PS Guys, Nan has asked me to sell the one I did the test with, so if anyone wants the glass now, @ its 3500 dollar retail price just give me a buzz :)

Hello ALL, I thought just for those of you that didn't see the test I did with the glass the first time I would repost it:

Again, any questions... feel free to give me a buzz, via, e mail, phone, skype whatever...

Interesting. Hope we can see focus pulls tests of this lens. This should make a very complete zoom.

Naaaaaan, you're an animal... quick work eh? ya ya so I spoke to nan and if you didn't hear anyone that was potentially waitin on an Alstar lens with a 300 degree focus throw for 5K your wait is up, as you can pay an extra 850USD here and get a 300 degree focus throw version!

BOOM :)

So - a thought - any chance Nan might offer similarly discounted pricing on a rehoused Tokina 11-16 if we bought at same time as the Sigma?

Thanks for the test Avi, through I was referring to the lens with the longer throw. I guess it would be fantastic for a steadicam with a remote follow focus.!!

It's the same... It's a still camera lens rehoused... all the focus internals are the same.. don't over think it ;)
