  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GL Optics Sigma 18-35 Rehoused - Group Buy

Nan didn't know himself. It's about 1.3kg for the standard and guesstimated 1.8 kg for the 300 version - could be less, too it's been hand weighing comparison between the two models :) but he said its below 2kg

Is the front diameter of the 300degree version a bit larger ? 114mm ? that would actually save me a few hundred bucks in matte box parts over the 95mm version. Super cool if it is.

Sorry didn't ask for it when I was there. But it looked bigger, so it could definitely hold true. Didn't think about it at the moment.... Too much lens info all day long, so I slipped up.

Is it possible to get a 3d matched pair? Seems like they'd be great lenses for shooting 3D.

Hey David,
can you Please confirm if its possible to get a 3d matched pair?

So ready to jump on this. Will we have to shim the lens mounts if we go from PL to EF like the CP.2's? If not I think I am in

Hi Adam,
you don't need add any shim when you change the mount, I have corrected everything.

David shot a short clip of Nan changing the mount live at this years IBC. maybe he can post it if he's not to busy? (-;

we're testing the 18-35PL here in Holland and so far everybody that lays eyes/hands on it just loves this lens. both build quality and sharpness etc. The last isn't that strange obviously because of all the good reviews on the non-rehoused one.

Somebody who's in contact with Nan has ever talked about rehousing the 50-150? That would be a nice match to the 18-35, isn't it?

As soon as I get my photo camera back (forgot it at a friends place in Utrecht), I'll post a video of how to change the lens mount.

The mounts get connected with screws and are absolutely solid and robust. It takes roughly two minutes to exchange them... works just like the RED lens mounts.

Nan will have a look at the Nikon 24-70 after this project is over (or, if the rumors are true, at the new Sigma zoom).

Hi Kwan,

sorry it's not possible to match them so perfectly to make them bulletproof for 3D work. If shooting 3D, I would go with specially matched pairs by Angenieux or prime lenses.

Cheers
David
