What head is frankie on? I don't recognize it. Oh wait I think it may be a panther?

This photo begs for a caption contest. I'll start.

You beat me to it... I have asked around about Panther heads and have yet to receive any feedback. I just figured no one was using them. I put my hands on one way back in November at AbelCineTech and it felt friggin awesome. Considering the price though maybe it would be better to stick to a well known like OConnor.

Jim, Great picture thanks for sharing.

4.72 @ 332mph

LOL! But when are you going to shoot something locked-down that shows how the codec holds up shooting a still life portrait under controlled lighting? Until I see that I will think you are hiding something.:p

Who else would think of shooting drag racing to pre-empt the "when will we see some motion" crowd?!

I love it Jim. Nice to see the 300mm in use. I rember talking about shooting the drags at 4K and you said that is the whole reason for this. I am so glad to see you actually did it. Just kick ASS Man. I love tedd's face that is grate.

Is an O'Connor 1030HD much cheaper? I'm having a hard time finding a price, but I recall a price of around 5k vs 5.6k for the Panther. Anybody have experience with both of these? Or are you just considered there is so little feedback on Panther heads. Have they just started making heads and tripods?

Red crew, how did you like using a Panther head?

Cheers,
Damien

Thanks Jim - that photo has ratcheted me up to a whole new level of excitment!! Cor what a rush!!

Were you filming our NAB demo perchance??

And look at the cables coming out of the back of that thing! That's serious data flow to the RAID fridge right there. Whooaaa!! Look at them go!!

See you at NAB!!

Best regards, Phil

This gets better every day...

No EVF or LCD visible... no MB or FF... and plenty of big 'ol cables hanging out the back. I'd love to see Frankie's smart side.

That's quite the hood on the 300mm. Trying to fit in with the still guys? ;)

I do wonder though, don't you guys have a more recent proto to shoot with? I don't mean to criticize, but I thought there were supposed to be a small number of prototypes in testing right now and I find it surprising you're still shooting with Frankie. What about Spike, and are there others? Were you shooting with other cams?

Cheers,
Damien

Jim, this is C_R_A_Z_Y!!!

Tell me, with the game-face look on the faces of the dudes in the pix, is this an inkling as to the magnitude of what you guys are dealing with?... pressure wise?

earthling: as indicated by Jim before there are multiple proto types doing various things. This is just one of them.
