Hi Guys, future scarlet-w owner here. Question: I'm unsure if I should get an iPhone plus (my phone is on the fritz and I'm going to get a new one anyway), or an iPad mini to use foolcontrol. Any thoughts one way or the other would be appreciated!

I get that iPad mini is bigger screen, so is that the best of both worlds for portability and size? Or do users better like having it on their personal phone? I've seen photos of a mini mounted to a steadicam rig, maybe I would be more reluctant to do this with my personal phone?

thanks I hadn't considered that.

Check the FB page he has a post about a special version for rental companies. As for device I suggest a phone over an ipad, a little easier to use on the go. If you were using it at a directors monitor then maybe an iPad but its perfectly designed for the phones size.

Yes there is a special program for rental houses that let them rent their camera with foolcontrol without providing an iPad or asking the client to buy the full version of the app (but not for single camera rental houses sorry).

I tend to think the best sizes are either the iPhone 6/6s/7 plus with large screen or an iPad mini....

But any device running iOS 8 or newer is running the app just fine (from iPhone 4s or iPod touch 5th gen to iPad mini 1st gen or iPhone 6/5s/SE and iPad Pro) and even one with a modest capacity is perfect for camera control...

I rent my camera out often enough, do you need to be a registered rental house in order to do this?

I've been using it on an ipad mini and I'm switching from Android to iPhone just to use it there. Find the ipad mini another thing to lug around. I'd go with iPhone

two cameras?

email me but it's a yearly license/service different from the app you might already own. The program offers options when having a lot of users who need to use foolcontrol (rental / schools vs camera owners who occasionally rent ...)
