Id like to share with you guys a short i been working on, its a very stylized Halloween Story for kids.
Its inspired by the works on Shel Silverstein, Dr Seuss, Charles Addams and Edward Gorey.

IT IS LIVE ACTION, mixed with Cg creatures and 2D animation

Its filled with monsters, and magical places. hope you guys like it

A Making of Showing the Red In Action and VFX breakdowns

It was shot by Michael Epple, I did alot of 2nd unit macro stuff, and the angel shot.. the rest is epple who is great to work with.

Wow! Absolutely amazing. Stunning visuals, flawless animation and compositing. I love Halloween too! Very inspiring, thanks for sharing!

Miguel, How long did the post take on this project once principal photography had finished? Was it done in an at home studio or at a facility?

hey guys thanks for the support, means alot in this community of artists, this was beyond low budget..every time u see dust its me goign around the house crumpling our cup
coasters adding babay powder and throwing it in the air as the red was rolling..i was always getting yelled at..

watch the behind the scenes, post wise it was 95% all Me and Tran Ma sweating ourselves to death in a room with 7 computers rendering 24 hours a day in a NO ac apt..
NO facility AT ALL... im not sure how long it took because we were working fulltime as we did this at digital domain.
I think we calculated that had we worked this through fulltime it would have taken us 2, maybe 6 months of work.

we got some help on the animation of the characters but we did all the models and textures of the creatures ourselves as well.

Great work Miguel! Love the entire thing. Top notch work. Do you freelance or is everything contracted through DD?
