Is there any functionality that can be accessed by the apple watch? I was thinking about using this, in my line of work having a phone out makes you look like your texting not working!

Send a PM to Mikael if you have a feature request. For a watch, I bet record/stop is the best you could get. Using the Watch crown would be cool for focus ;) The world's smallest follow focus.

lol, I am looking for start stop and preset changes

the short answer yes it works... you must have an iphone or ipad thats conneted to the camera & the iwatch tethers to it i made a short video using it i can send it to you pm me your email

As Marcel said, yes it exists already but is kinda limited by the Apple Watch network functionality and processing power. It requires an iPhone or iPad connected to the camera as the watchfool app is just a satellite of the main iOS app.
Once connected to camera you can see the histogram, pre-red, start stop, monitor battery, ssd, control playback, raw, 1:1 and gioscope and also access navigation keys and sofkeys...

digital crown for focus or iris I tried but it was too slow / delayed to be useful... maybe in 1-2 watch generations we will be able to do more tho...
