  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Focus....

Hmm... I'm thinking a liquid-cooling option might be of interest to some users.

I'm quite sure that someone will make a very cool (pun) system for extreme conditions.

It all sounds great :)

I wanted to ask how the "plans of mass production" are coming along. There were smallish hints that this was an issue a few month ago. Everything smooth now? I know you can't say too much here although I also think there isn't much of a competition right now...

We aren't quite done with development yet. Production is always an issue. But we'll get there.

Given your lenses, you may want to consider the Scarlet S35. They will better match what you have. You can use them on a Scarlet 2/3" but you have to take the magnification factor into consideration. With these lenses you will not have wide angle coverage.

Jim

That means if i go for Scarlet S35 then only i can have nice wide angle coverage with these given Zeiss lenses right?

Nice you are well aware of what you can supply to a market eagerly looking for. I believe if Scarlet will be your best seller ever, Scarlet S35 should only be the best bang for the buck followed by the upcoming Scarlet FF35. 2 units each of both models @ my own.

Jim, just to bump up the same question again - any (even rough) ETA and pricing for the electronic RED zoom(s)? 2010? Bellow $5K/$10K/lens?

Peter

This year (late) and under $10K.

Gizmodo's picked up on the news:

Can't wait to get my hands on these bad boys. I know prices and delivery times are subject to change but I have a feature in February that's much more suited to the small form factor of multiple scarlets rather than a single R1. Hope they're out in time.

Keep up the great work guys :)

I'm guessing an underwater housing that connects straight to the cooling ports on the Epic and Scarlet bodies would be cool, allowing the water itself cool the camera. There would always be the option of selling a special fan meant for underwater usage :ihih:
