  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

IIRC, RED is not going to exhibit at NAB anymore. Doesn't keep them from releasing something around NAB time, but not at NAB itself.

This is exiting for all RED Family... Upgrades, software improvements... Shit, I am already so happy with the results I get with my MG... Can't wait to get my Helium upgrade... No rush though... Scarlet W and Raven folks gotta get their final love :)

Are things still looking good as far as the first Feb update on Scarlet-W to Epic-W trade ins (from orders placed before the upgrades re opened)? I think it said around 90 days to catch up so by end of April time still hopeful?
 
I paid at the end of January, still waiting for my Epic-W. Being told it looks like it will now ship in April. I wold love that to be in the beginning as we are heading to the beautiful Lofoten islands in the north of Norway in April. And we need a new partner to our Dragon.
 
Yes April should be awesome for Epic-W shipments. Apologies again for the never ending lines. I swear it's Karma biting me in the ass because I am probably the most impatient person you will ever meet.

Truth is that the Epic-W is such an insane deal that for some coming work while I wait for that "VERY SPECIAL" camera, I might also get one :)

karma will reward you Jarred.. for every unhappy customer, you have a plethora of really happy ones.

I Think this entire process will in time reward you with being the most patient one of all. your making your dreams happen and creating an army of REDUSERS.
 
quick question:

I ordered a Scarlet-w before October 11th 2016 (didn't receive it yet). I'm now wondering if I should switch to the Epic-w with the 10k offer. Is it possible that this special offer will be suddenly ended?

It just goes to show how good a job you folks at Red have done with the DSMC2 camera line.

And the fact that you're investing in more production while Panasonic and Sony are reorganizing and slimming down to stay alive... well, obviously you're doing quite a bit more right than not.

When Jarred introduced that offer he also said that it might be terminated on short notice. I wouldn't be surprised if it ended along with the price increase of the Scarlet-W and Raven.

If you can swing it, it's worth the extra. I'm doing almost no color grading at all on most of what I shoot now with mine, because the out of the box color is just that good now. It's a crazy bargain.

Excellent. I've been missing my Raven (I sold to upgrade) and the DSMC2 body deeply these past weeks.
