Just in case...

If a movie like "Slumdog Millionaire" can be shot 60% on a single 2/3" 2K sensor camera like the SI-2K and win Oscars for Best Cinematography, Best Directing, and Best Picture (among others), then the 3K Scarlet will be fine.

We just may choose to be "selective" next time around when we decide to hand out cookies.

REDONE will compete against anything on the market (other than the EPIC) for many years to come. It shoots an image 4x more than what you actually need for 99% of what you do. Don't think you have to rush and buy an EPIC, The REDONE has years left in it.

This would probably be a good time to remind our customers that we shot high with the specs and size of EPIC. I don't think anything like this has ever been attempted by anyone before. It seems like it takes a "new" company that "is too dumb to know what not to do" to try something like this.

Our team fought some impressive obstacles to get these type of specs crammed into a little body. Since we really had no idea what we were doing... it shouldn't surprise anyone that we were late in finishing this project.

I guess the real news is that we haven't learned our lesson yet. We have more impossible tricks planned for the future... :-)

I have seen the best 1080P footage projected on a 40' screen. The smartest and most respected people in the industry were asking to "focus the projector".

It didn't help.

Quote of the year? RED, in one line.

Mike

When I first started getting involved with RED on a more personal level, Ted showed that there is no "class" of people in the industry in which they will favor one over another because of one's accomplishments or status in the industry. When Ted makes snowcones for the 50 campers + staff, it's not for the pictures being taken. It's because of his heart for the filmmaking industry (and its future). (EDIT) ..That's priceless...

This pretty much sums it up...
