Here's a TV commercial I shot with my Red recently. Shot in the bank lobby night-for-day.

Build 17
Superspeeds
23.98
Daylight Kinos and HMI's
Color correction at FilmWorkers Club Nashville

The jpg is just my own quick color correction. The final spot had a little less contrast, and some softening of skin tones.

Nice job. Any production details you can share? Any workflow challenges? Thanks.

Thanks for the kind words, guys.

We had a great gaffer, so that was a big help! The main lighting challenge was to make it look a little dramatic, yet still somewhat believable as a bank lobby. So we pretended that the late afternoon sun was coming in through the windows. In reality it was night, when the bank was closed, so that sun is an 18K HMI. Some of the windows had those big sign decals that look opaque from the outside, but from the inside they act like ND filters--they have thousands of little holes that let some light in. And we had a prompter on the camera for some shots, so that took away some f-stop. So I usually had the SuperSpeeds open to about 2.0 or a little wider. I guess it's a pretty good example of how even a gigantic light may not end up being as bright as you'd think. We used very soft front fill on the talent, usually Kinos through 4x4 frames.

Although I often edit my own projects, I just served as DP on this one and handed off to the production company. I didn't go to Nashville for the color correction so I'm not sure what was used, but it was pretty high-end.

Hope that answers your questions.
