Everything you wanted to know about the EPIC Canon Mount

I would be more than willing to help out here. In my past life I owned a machine shop specializing in Laser and Abrasive Water Jet Cutting and secondary machining. We did a great deal of aerospace work and even had parts go into space on the Shuttles. If Jarred would be willing to send me a CAD drawing or the CNC program, I'd be happy to get some quotes from machine shops up here in the Midwest. We have a lot of shops up here that specilize in exotic metal processing and they are all ISO certified. This could help to clear off some of the backlog and provide an opportunity to establish a working relationship with secondary source for just these circumstances. I can do the leg work and help set this up if you want me t Jarred, just let me know and I'll get right on it.

I need a prototype built, where do I start? I have the tech, and what not but the build, compatibility, where would I go? RED has a department but they might have their own machine, I am trying to get them my prototype built for their system, anyone I should speak to?

I don't think you guys quite understand just how many mounts were sold in that first day... I know we could of never anticipated that ordering frenzy in a million years.

...so. Any idea about when the back-log will be cleared? I'm thinking of ordering another one, so both EPIC's have one. Truth be told though, I'm anxiously waiting for that Nikon mount!

If my Epic wasn't due in the next few days, I'd have been happy to provide the mount to
anyone local that desperately needed one for a project.

In all fairness to Red (Marco), I was advised that if I didn't want to take delivery at this point,
the mount would be supplied to the next customer in line and that I would be worked back in
at a latter date.......couldn't take the chance on that though.

Anyways.. nothing is wrong.. we are making them as fast as we can and shipping them out the door. Remember.. these are machined, out of titanium, which isn't exactly the "quickest" process in the world

First day, wow.. We are still not past the first 10 min Jarred.. That's when I ordered..

WOW! still the first orders are only dribbling out... (((( what a long long wait we all have.

I had a play with a Canon lens on the (somebody else's) EPIC last night... Fricken cool!!!! Now i'm really getting impatient. it is an accessory worth having, thats for sure.

I did the same Joe... I've ordered up a storm of extra gear. I'm not going to fall into this BACK ORDER nightmare ever again.... I hope ))))

Plus what is the point of having a mount with no Epic.

The people that order there accessories well before the cameras were ready are the smart ones... Congrats to them!

Got mine in hand finally (thanks to Bomb Squad member Dan Baum).

It really is such a fantastic system! Personally this is the single most important piece of my Epic kit, since I don't own PL glass any more.

All I need now is the Smart Side Handle to put the batteries in, and I will have a true DSLR size, inconspicuous 5K digital cinema system in the palm of my hand!!! EPIC is the most prescient name in history methinks....

Ordered within minutes of it going live, before anyone asks.
