+1 Well expressed observation Brad. Separately, the accessory allocations seem to be as/or equally distressing as the camera production -- seems not to be in adequate lockstep with the camera delivery.

Who would of thought there would be so much drama over this. Remember guys.. the stages are all Optional. We intended these to be a gift.. no matter how much you try and tie that to business planning or compare it to anything else.. it is genuinely intended to be a gift from us to all our great customers. Stage 3 guys were the last group I thought would complain about anything. guess I was wrong.
Good strategy!My two cents...
I decided to skip Stage 3, upgrade my RED One to a MX with SSD, and shoot. When Scarlet-X is available for me, I'll buy one of those, too. Suits my needs, for now. When I need an Epic-X, I'll buy one in cash if it's a big project, or just rent one when I need HDRx or high frame rates.
Don't have an exact date, lot of moving parts to make sure we minimize the time you are each without your camera. More info coming pretty soon, for sure.

You're right.
The wording of the trade-in "up-to" $17,500, is a very recent change in the deal.
I don't believe I have anything to worry about with my stage 3 camera, but it would get some people sweating, I'm sure.
I hope the discovery and billing of wear and tear on a body that Red previously said they'd credit $17,500 for, doesn't create bad blood between Red and some of it's most loyal customers. As soon as people start posting "Hey Red won't give me my Epic until I've paid XXXX for some issue that I never noticed", Red have a nightmare.
