  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC Schedule Update...

Great news but I'm expecting great pain watching stage 2 buyers receive EPICs while I wait for Stage 3:-)

Specifically, how large will the first batches be? A couple hundred?
 
It's good to see much more confident estimates of the future schedule. Feels like the indefinate wait has become a countdown
 
As a no budget hack setting aside my meager earnings from the weekend work I do, I live vicariously through my REDuser breatheren. As such, this is quite exciting news. I can remember Red One's launch day...seeing the slow stream if oils as guys got home and unpacked their new toys. Can't wait for Epic to get into the hands of these guys here!
 
Sounds great. Good luck with the massive production operation this will require. We know you can do big numbers Jim. Can't wait to see the Epic count catch up with Red One's... and shoot past without dropping speed.
 
how far behind is Stage 3.
As far as I can tell Stage 2 is the same as Stage 3 as both get the same EPIC-X, only one is for people with more cash and who want to hang onto their R1, so my real question would be is Stage 2 & 3 going to happen at the same time?

Stage 3 follows Stage 2 camera shipments.
 
Just by looking at the number of Cameras now ready to go in production, well soon, and the astonishing number of serious PRO Lenses and Accessories, it is clear that this is no longer the RED of two years ago when RED ONE came to us, this is an all other RED DIGITAL CINEMA COMPANY and they mean business, I'm confident that weight times will be incredibly short once production starts and shipping begins.

I have been a costumer of RED for a long time, and I am thinking, could this timeframe be a fresh new start (in terms of dates), or will I see my Epic sometime early 2011...

Anyway, I have my lovely MX-RED, and I am good at waiting, so just get it right! ;-)

I know it's hard to guess right now, but how long do you think it will approximately take to deliver all the Stage 2 Epics and start stage 3 ?

It's a very important question for all the people trying to decide right now if they will chose stage 2 or stage 3...
Do you know how many Epics / month you'll be able to deliver ?
