  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Mike - to rent or to own? Not sure how much the Lomo's go for, and I'm guessing square vs. round would make a difference...

I've uploaded a few of the R3Ds if you are interested. No fill was used in any of the shots (aside from what was naturally happening), but I can't say that I didn't tap my HDR button =) Even with just the A track however the highlights look pretty good.

Brandon - they certainly aren't master primes. I can't speak to focus accuracy (I was pulling by eye) and judging by the DOF in the shot I'm probably close to WFO, which is usually tougher on anamorphics. I pulled a couple 100% crops, with zero sharpening.





The distortion is pretty classic anamorphic. And yes. =)

Was this in lightroom? It's crazy how well the saturation is scaling up -- the blue channel seems a little hot (jeans and blue in the shirts), but the overall saturation seems to be perfect. In RCX the red channel goes to hell real quickly when boosted more than 25%. Awesome stuff again.
 
Mike, actually that is out of rcx/preview...

Didn't have any app accessible and the tweaks are really minor.

but maybe u like it. we shot a little "test/music/vid" with our superspeeds mk1 set 18,25,35,50,85 on a scarlet :)
almost every shot wide open.

Why has no one copied them? It's crazy that they've been discontinued since 1987 and yet no one has tried to copy them (the patents have expired by now). Crazy!

If I wasn't so stupid as to listen to how "dated" the supers are, when I got my R1...
But now the prices are something else...
 
That last one isn't fair :) I couldn't care less about the lens, camera, or exposure. Simply beautiful. Keep em coming Gunleik!
