  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC officially out of Backorder

Dude. Red. Guys. Come on. You're going too fast with this. I won't even be ready to buy my Epic until Summer!

(Congratulations! This is a huge milestone.)

It's fantastic and something you should all be very proud of. I know how many hours you put in, because I am up to not being able to fall asleep. And I can say that nobody I have ever met puts the kinds of hours into his work that you do. I am extremely honored to be affiliated with you all in any way. I am a fan boy, a cinematographer, and I am trying to do my part. I am giving back to RED and next money I will be helping terminally ill kids and they are all so excited to be on camera and get to touch the Scarlet. Bennett Miller of "Money Ball" will be there and Jonah Hill as well.

You guys rock man. A lot of posturing happens on here sometimes and it blows. I was accused on not working hard once on here - I was upset as well to say the least.

I love you guys and appreciate you.

PS - I know all of you RED BOMB SQUADS keep us in line through the night, you are all really hard workers, I am including you all amount of blood sweat and tears you have put into this.

thanks for working all those extra hours Red team, I'm sure this is a milestone which must feel great to have passed.
Please understand your customers are not in your office, we don't know what work is being done and the hurdles you face.
All we know is "we must wait" and even once we have waited we must wait some more.
All not easy when you're trying to do business because, after all, this is a business purchase, no matter how "cool" the products are... they are still tools for the trade.

I'm not going to jump up and down in my pink lycra suit with red pompoms... But I am stoked at your success, even though I don't fully understand it.
I've been with Red since 2006 and I support what you do and market the hell out of you to my clients and customers.
I'm just find the lycra suit a bit itchy and it chaffs in uncomfortable places :-)
 
It is really neat to see this company grow up in front of our eyes. I can still remember those fun days back on DVXuser where only a few truly believed in what Jim was promising. Then seeing right ups on sites like HDforindies...

Congrats to Jim and Co. for pressing on through all the bad days to reach some really really good ones.

Actually, now that I've calmed down for a moment, I think that Jarred wasn't specifically telling me that my camera is ready...as in, ready for me to start packing up my R1. I think he was just saying that we're close because all the Epic 3.5s are built and ready for processing.

Either way...I'm extremely excited!!!
 
I tend to be very forum-shy. But as an independent renter what I do is simple: Sub-rent equipment until yours is ready to go out. It makes financial sense, it keeps customers happy. At the end of the day the ROI on Red equipment has been amazing in my humble case.

I think RED has your back, even if there are delays, making a living out of these amazing products has been easy for me, and it should be for anyone. The reason is that they the RED ONE, EPIC and SCARLET are UNREAL PRODUCTS. They smoke the water out of the competition and its a great company to deal with.

So always have a plan B, sub-rent equipment if worse comes to worse. And be fair to your providers. My 2 cents.
