  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC officially out of Backorder

We will not increase prices on items that are in backorder :)

Thanks Jarred.

You're probably not going to be able to increase the price on the I/O module any time soon. The demand on that module is going to be insane.

Presume the idea is that there is now enough Epic stock to cover all stages (3/3.5) and 4.

With nobody on 3/3.5 loosing out on 'their' camera going to a Stage4 buyer because their RED hasn't arrived for checking yet?

Just presuming - that's sort of how I read it... ie 'there are enough Epics for all' now.

Correct, Stage 3/3.5 have delivery priority over Stage 4.

Well, everyone should really be happy now :biggrinjester:

well you guys are definitely the only company that threatens customers who do not holler 'hooray'
all the time to be banned from something that is perceived as a public forum.

I have to give you that.

The above also falls under 'dick' behavior. So I guess we'll call it even.

no but you are well on your way to making the cut for the other list... stop being a dick. Brent already explained it.

Brent,

Do you understand that from my perception as a customer - downpayment gone - no camera - my camera is indeed on backorder ?

Axel, the trade-in team for Stage 3 and 3.5 is a different stream from the new camera production team. We are notifying people to send in their RED ONEs for eval trade-in as quickly as that team can process them. And we are continuing to improve/streamline that process as we go along...

Meanwhile, our production team is cranking out cameras to a level where we can support open Stage 3/3.5 customers as well as at-once orders for Stage 4.

Sometimes we just cannot win. People (fairly based on our prior history) complain we are on backorder. And then when our production team gets some traction pumping out brains, you make a snarky comment.

My dream camera will soon be REAL and in my hands.

Yes, I am a "fanboy"! And proud of it.

Congratulation RED!

So happy... I just paid in full. Now wait until the truck drives up. Love the camera, accessability to you guys, and the hype.

Thanks for all the hard work!!!!!

Wow, that got ugly pretty quick.

Jarred, this is great news, of course, and congrats on this milestone. I don't suppose you can give a rough estimate when stage3.5 will be wrapped? Are we talking weeks or months?

Very soon.. your camera is ready :)

Thanks for the support guys.. we have a lot more work to do to get everything else out of the hole, but every week that goes by our incredible manufacturing team breaks records and takes a big step forward.

It is great that at least you can now buy a camera with everything you need to go out and shoot..

Best we go our separate ways Axel... I promise not to be a customer of yours if you promise not to be a customer of ours. Brent will arrange the refund on your deposit and help you go on your way.

It's been a while since I've been here, but seeing this is shocking. I know that RED doesn't tend to tolerate criticism well, but this is a PAYING CUSTOMER who has waited for his order to be fulfilled and expressed his legitimate frustration about what he sees as failures in communication... And you're just going to kick him out - refuse to sell to him. That is NOT OKAY. Have some respect for your customers and understand their frustrations.
