  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC is a Dream to Configure!

I really do hope RED bring out a HD wireless video module, would be great to keep it all contained into the EPIC Modular system

I agree. One of the most important concepts to the EPIC system is just that, it is a system.

Well thought out and integrated accessories systems are critical.

I hope RED has been studying not only cinema rigs, but those for ENF/EFP, Documentary, live sports, TV studio etc, so they might be able to offer one stop shopping for those users.

Will be posting some with the O'Connor C-FF1 from our set up for next shoot ;)

Ahhhhhh my favorite FF! That's the one I will be using in addition to the smaller one that's coming from OConnor soon. Can't wait, thanks Ketch :)

Weird. I thought the Module Adapter was going to be much thinner, about the thickness of a Redmote. But judging by the length of that top plate it will be about twice that if the plate will screw onto it.

Not that it would be a bad thing. It seems a fully built Epic would still be very short and the added inch or so might be welcome --IF I am reading into this and guessing right.

I noticed two mic in ports on the Red Camera site. How are the record/monitor sound capabilities of the Epic? More control than R1? Is it viable for recording sound in camera?

Also, does anyone know of a decent hood for the RED Monitor?

It's just barely thicker than a REDmote. That picture of ET's upper cage scenario makes it look thicker than it is overall.

You know the drill Brook... Post a pic or it doesn't exist! :)

Soon. It's all ugly and needs some work. :) [not a RED product]

simply unbelievable.
epic and the optimo rouge will be my dream set up.
cant believe to have them both in a couple of weeks/months.
and with the et stuff, the i/o modules and brooks mysterious batteryplate module
the cinestyle configuration is top notch too.
great to see such a cam alive.
great job done by everyone involved.
early users and red alike

We used the Hoodman H-R 5.6 same as the one used on the Standard Red 5.6" LCD, it fits like a glove ;)

Btw... 5k Run N' Gun Set up of the Day ;)

So how's the picture on that 5.6". I wonder if it's the same or better than small HD's LCD. If it is, that would be awesome. Also, is the brightness of the LCD good enough for steadicam work?

I trust and see Epic to be a sweet camera on any Set and Photo shoots ;)

In some tests and set up there will alwsy be inevitably the classical spaghetti Cable,
as in this shot linked on our Article of Engadget from Image shack.

Very nice Ketch!

I see there is a film plane mark. Has there been any talk about a RED or 3rd party focus hook?
