Thought I'd start a list of some basic features that still need to be added. Let me know if I have any of these wrong. I've only done minimal testing with the EPIC myself but am hoping RED can add/fix these soon:

1-Phantom power to the audio inputs
2-Proxy creation to match the R3D's
3-Audio playback in camera

Also, I noticed the headphone volume/audio output is very low. I had to have it max'd out to monitor from the camera. There was also a slight delay on monitoring via headphones, though it was sync'd on the card.

Feel free to add to the list so they're all on they're all in one place.

Thanks.

Kevin

Anyone?

...
4. Arri's Lens Data System (LDS).
5. Zoom 1:1 when recording
6. Remote camera power on

in fact, I would reverse the order of priority from 6...1

Ability to consistently display battery % from red bricks.

We have #6 handled...in the next generation of "Sync Bob" available for delivery in 4 to 6 weeks. Its sweet!

Proxies are not currently created in camera. So you cannot just put the card in a laptop and open up a QT proxy to view a take immediately...must use RC-X.

What does number two mean?

4. FIX THE CAPS-LOCK KEY ON KEVIN'S KEYBOARD

just a little post-thanksgiving dinner humor for you.

Ha...I never do it, but sometimes you need to yell to get attention. ;-)

I'm operating on the assumption that RED knows all of this and is working on these items. Except proxies - I'm not sure that they're going to continue with in-camera proxies....maybe the thread can change their minds...

the wifi module will make proxies... when / if it will be released.
but only in project framerate i guess.

1. Ability to delete clips in camera. (would be a great benefit for filmmakers in remote areas where transferring loads of footage and carrying multiple hard drives is not feasible). Add a few layers of protection for others who don't like this feature, such as, "do you want to delete this clip?" And if that's not enough, "do you really want to delete this clip?" Perhaps the delete clips in camera setting could be turned on and off.

That's a great one, Jeremy.

-Prerecord. This would be great to have, too, for event shooting and/or wildlife photography.

besides more control over the bomb evf signal, formatting ssd cards in a easy way without the TS,
i want the promised David Mullen Button! makes look everytging like being shot from him.
since i have my george lucas script doctor app, this combo will turn me into a visually perfecf moneymaking machine.
thanks red. hehe.

With the MX camera, quicktime proxies are generated. These are convenient.

They may have been eliminated from the Epic camera for sensible reasons. It appears some savvy "data" guys were throwing
away the R3Ds and just keeping the proxies.
However, not having the quicktime proxies forces the user to employ RedCineX software which in turn produces superior customized proxies.
