  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DSMC2 Side Handle

Just when we think we have our accessories order figured out for our Raven, now this! Decisions, decisions! We currently have the Outrigger handle on order. Any advice on which direction to take will be truly appreciated.

For me anyway, the side handle is the better option. You have more control at your fingertips. And if it's like the old style side handle experience, once you get used to using those controls on a regular basis, you really miss them when not available.
 
I love my DSMC side handle! Can't wait to add this to my DSMC 2 set-up. Nice job RED team!

Thanks for the input! We are shooting primarily with DSLR now and the Side Handle for the Raven makes alot of sense.
 
That is badass. I am starting to see that my migration to DSMC2 is inevitable. :drool:
 
Just ordered as well!
Like Randy says, coming from the DSLR world, i am excited about this handle. Now can't wait for the slim batteries...

Ok, it's an awesome looking sidehandle. Basic button layout, much better/safer grip for sure. This combined with lighter DSMC2-bodies, your new REDVOLT-V makes a lot of sense. To be honest, i think i'm going to miss the REDVOLT in SH, the additional buttons and yes, the display too, in the same way i'll miss the buttons of my REDMOTE. But maybe not that much? Will see. This new SH looks really comfortable and makes DSMC2 complete for me. Great solution.
 
Great update. The teaser photo on FB had me hungry to see more.

This will be an excellent option for small handheld builds.
 
What would be great is if the handle can rotate! Other than that this looks incredible. I will defiantly look into placing my order in the foreseeable future! Thanks Jarred
 
What would the max weight this can take if we're handholding a fairly packed camera? Not to say it couldn't take a load, but I'm curious since it has the spacing now (love this!) whereas the original handle was directly bolted into the brain.
