ESTIMATED TO BEGIN SHIPPING IN FALL 2016

The DSMC2™ Side Handle has arrived and is completely redesigned for the DSMC2 camera line. Designed for shooters who prefer a compact handheld configuration, the DSMC2 Side Handle offers the most ergonomic handle option—attaching directly to the side of the camera BRAIN®.

The DSMC2 Side Handle features a molded rubber grip and puts primary camera controls right at your fingertips. A primary navigation wheel (front) offers direct control over lens focus, while a secondary navigation wheel (side) supports iris functions. The rotary wheel and D-Pad provide advanced control over menu options directly from the handle. Four customizable camera parameter buttons provide quick access to controls such as exposure, white balance, magnification toggle, and autofocus. Additionally, a stepped encoder offers additional operation customization and lets you incrementally increase or decrease the selected camera parameters.

An intelligent DSMC2 handle wouldn’t be complete without a record button—allowing you to toggle record on/off directly from the handle. On top of an integrated RECORD button, the DSMC2 Side Handle features aMARK FRAME button, empowering you to tag frames while shooting and revisit them later in post production.
NOTE: The DSMC2 Side Handle cannot be used simultaneously with the DSMC2 Outrigger Handle or DSMC2 Sidekick.

Look to Element Technica for some really cool wood options for the replaceable grip.

That is most excellent! Love the wood version!

What a great design. Fall 2016 will be big at RED!

BEAUTIFUL.

Got my order in about 20 min ago, so hyped for this!!! Only thing missing are the new slim v-lock batteries...

So, if it is available for purchase now, but doesn't ship until the fall when does your card get charged?

I feel like I just happened to click reduser at the right time. :hurray:

I'd double check this, but I believe the fine print on the checkout page says (the full amount) when allocated and ready for delivery. My card was just authorized for $1.00.

I love it, but I've also fallen in love with the side display we have now... don't know what to do :tongue_smilie:

Correct, Mike. We charge at invoice (ie, once your product is being picked for delivery). We do the $1 auth to confirm valid credit card. That usually is purged by your credit card company in a business day or so...

Thanks! Ordered! (Now time to sell a couple DSMC side handles!)

Options are a good thing. Different horses for different courses...

Yeah, but this one is hard hehe It's how the first side handle should have been like, now we can actually hold it in a safe way with a bigger lens... but the side screen also made it easier to do quick changes when you don't use a touch screen.
Ah, well, I might get a touch and this instead ^_^

Like it way more than V1, you can actually fold your hand around it, no more top handle on a swat rail mounted to the side of the top plate. Ah, yeah, ordered of course :)
