  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Jarred, due to more powerful internals for the Weapon, will Weapon Dragon and Epic Dragon share the same firmware?
 
I can't seem to find the DSMC v6 announcement thread. Is there a UI update? Anyone have screenshots? I've been buried in a project and am just now getting all the Weapon updates. All super exciting!
 
Thank you for fixing the motion mount side handle increment / decrement. :) Works great.

Hoping you can get the 85mm Otus (Canon mount) in the build for the release. Obviously not blocked since IRIS seems to work okay now, just have the message every time I attach the lens. Same goes for the Canon 24mm TS-E II.

There was no official announcement (it came out during NAB). Here were the posted release notes for 6.0.10:

Tanks Trent, and thanks Chris for asking the question, I was looking for the v6 feature list also.

I woud like to suggest Red make a thread dedicated to firmware releases, it would make life a lot easier for many people, allow only the Red team to post in it so info doesn't get buried in page and pages of messages. I've spent countless hours on Reduser, but I admit lately I've lacked time to follow what's going on, I come here every once in a while looking for info but it can be hard to fin.

Just read the beta v6.0.10 manual and now you can record just one frame clips using the side handle, redmote or record button on the ssd module in stills mode. Awesome news... here's a direct link:

The side handle motion/stills button now works also for switching modes. The one frame clips automatically default to 6k 3:2 and the lowest 3:1 compression. Excited to give this firmware a try.

You basically have 2 different set of settings now for the camera and can quickly switch between the two (using the SH still/motion button or any of the assignable key).

motion can be for example set to 4KHD @ 60 fps RC:12.1 with manual focus and you simply switch to 6K 2:1 RC 2:1 single frame burst with a different AF mode or AE mode for your stills... and everything is auto saved whenever you change those values...

You can also have a preset applied upon the switch so basically the camera now has 1 PLAYBACK mode and 2 different RECORDING modes that could have a whole different setting including different key mapping etc...

Not sure the manual is available yet
