  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DSMC Accessories

position and lock

edit:
looked at it again and it appears like a clutch design, although its somewhat sloppy when not tightened. If i just slightly loosen the lock I can get it to adjust and stay in position. Maybe Red can chime in here.

here is a better look

position and lock.

I prefer to use self-tapping screws myself! Makes it easier to get into the gooey center.

LOL!

The thought of a screw tapping through a circuit board inside an Epic makes me a little nauseous actually... :zombie_smiley:

not sure, but I can tell you that the 19mm mount thats part of the Clutch kit does.

Good to know. And I'm pretty sure the DSMC 19mm Universal Mount is the same whether you buy it alone or included with the QR plate or Clutch.

Here is a bit of a torture test for you that I thought I would share..

This last weekend i took the Scout out to the desert... deep, deep, deep into the desert ( not even singletrack land ) and beat the hell out of it.. so much so that I completely lost all 3 bolts on my right front pipe at the exhaust manifold.

I was pretty screwed..... The Scout computer decided it shouldn't run anymore and refused to man-up, and the thought of carving out my own road with a exhaust pipe dragging on the ground didn't sound like a very good idea.

Anyhow... being a dumbass before I left and deciding a couple of EPICS kitted with the DSMC system deserved the cargo area more than my tool box, I was sure i was done for. And this wasn't the kind of place you can just call for a tow truck....

Long story short... I found a new use for the DSMC wingnuts..... got me back running again and lasted the 2 hour, 800 degree trip home...

Heh heh heh....

All there is to say. :)

that is hardcore cool. and what Jeff said.

in the vein of Mike Meyers as the salty scottish dad in So I Married an Axe Murder to his son "Heeeeed _ pants now!"

Matt- Gunner, now!

LOL. Jarred, +10 points for having -canabalize Epic- as a part of your survival strategy. Many would have gone down with the ship.

What Jarred? You mean the EPIC doesn't hook up tot he Scout Computer to run it?

Am waiting for that to be added to the feature list in the RED store!!!

Scout? Computer? We're not talking vintage Indian then?

John

its a 74 scout , but with a 2010 Cadillac Escalade engine transplant, transmission etc.. computer and all... pretty much everything under the hood new. Has its good points and bad points.

man up and put a carburator on it- it should not need smog check before '75 model year..

no smog check.. which is why its so heavily modified... a carb would be going too far backwards for me.

I sent this picture to my brother, he'll get a kick out of that for sure.

We drove his jeep 5 miles off-road with a winch holding the rear axle together...

Jarred, as expensive as RED gear is, you may have shown me the cheapest way to keep my 2001 Range Rover on the road!! :w00t:
