  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DSMC Accessories

Awesome! Thanks Jarred!

Quick question- why isn't the Red One Riser Pack compatible with Epic? It seems like it'd be a great solution to be able to integrate the rails into the Quick Release system...

You get bottom rails for EPIC by using a Quick Release Platform (dovetail) and add either 15mm or 19mm DSMC Universal Mounts...

Totally gotcha there. I guess my question is that using the Quick Release with the Universal mounts, only the camera is removed when using the Quick Release, leaving the rails behind. But with the Red One Riser, it seems like the camera plus rails and accessories would move as one unit when using the Quick Release.

To use 15mm Lightweight rods with the new QR system, would you use the "DSMC 15mm Adaptor (centered)"? I'm not quite seeing how it would fit with the QR. Is the "15mm DSMC Universal Mount" for the 15mm Studio standard?

Correct, with riser, rails go with you in that case.

For a 15mm bottom rail system, DSMC Universal Mount(s) 15mm attached to the Quick Release Platform (Dovetail).

+1 to Nik's question of the smaller case. I'd love a 6-pack. I'm starting out with 6 SSDs on my M and then will be kitting out my Stage-2 next... That aside, I'm also not too keen on keeping $20-$40K of eggs all in the same basket. And that's just the cost of the media, not to mention what might be stored on it.

oh god yeah, thats another good point, thats a very scary thought.

Stay tuned ;)

Thanks for posting that Greg. Is the spinner clutched? Or do you position the viewfinder and then lock it? Thx.

position and lock

edit:
looked at it again and it appears like a clutch design, although its somewhat sloppy when not tightened. If i just slightly loosen the lock I can get it to adjust and stay in position. Maybe Red can chime in here.

here is a better look

Wow, the Spinner is looking pretty rad. That was one of the things I didn't get to see at NAB ... would love to hear more thoughts when you get a chance Greg :)
