I like that Phil's 2.28:1 format offers such a compelling matrix of lens compatibility, data usage, resolution and relatively simple aspect ratio cuts.
FWIW I share the love of 2:1 aspect ratio.

Phil,
I appreciate your work on the Dragon, when do you think you will be able to share some footage and test images?
That's entirely up to Jarred and Red. I'm just doing a bit of testing here and there at the moment.
It's clear though that Dragon is more "out in the wild" than ever and all those folks have been shooting images.
I'd love to put together a small shoot to really test out the camera. I'm going to do that anyways once I have a production model in my hands though. Getting images to play with in the upcoming "Dragon ready" Redcine-X Pro release is more of my interest. The combination of those two things in particular will truly show what Dragon can do.
We can give him the Crimean Bareback!Jason, tag me in if toia gets the upper hand....
Are you guys talking about the footage from my shoot? I don't think Phil shot anything on it that day...
I currently only have 2K DPX versions of the material... Obly Jarred has the capability to deal with the r3ds...
ok...
Sneaky bit for you all.
6k via RCX is playing sweet out of my laptop at 1/4 res !!
The 6k images look so fricken smooth... silky and clean.
The difference between 5k and 6k is huge ! ( A good huge) My 25mm looks like a 21mm !! And know Vignetting. (can't say that for my 18mm, but I hardly use that anyway.
We are doing our hard core exposure testing tomorrow and a bunch of night testing.
Today is work flow testing.... so far so good.
When you go from 1/16 to FULL, does that screen just clean up good?
Do some customers have their Epic Dragon camera/s in hand, while we haven't seen any footage from it yet?
Alright, now you're just toying with us Toia. Such a tease.
