  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Dragon upgrades

I just use the top new fan on the scarlet dragon and never had any trouble. Silent. I didn't really tried without the top fan though so I can't tell.

Thanks, Sam. Yes, I, too, have already installed the v.2 top fan even though I never really did have any heat issues.

Rome - I am still confused. My bottom fan hasn't been been installed yet. Are you suggesting that, if I send in my Scarlet with the standard bottom fan, that RED would normally just upgrade it in the Dragonizing process? That would certainly be great. But it doesn't explain why RED wouldn't at least have agreed to take my v.2 bottom fan back. Clearly, I am OK with that, since I can then sell it and recoup funds. But what my rep DIDN'T tell me was that they would install the new fan anyway. I was simply hoping they would provide a Dragon badge on the fan with the upgrade.

Seems like a little further discussion with RED is in order. Would love to hear confirmation from others that they all got the v.2 fan included; just for ammunition in my talk with my BS rep.

Terry,

Apologies for the late response, but it seems like you got your answer. But, for the Epic I own, when/if I get to send it in, I would do it with the old fan unit and take out the top fan because Red will give you the new fan units (both top and bottom) with the Epic upgrade...I didn't know that the fan upgrade was only for Dragon's and not Scarlet Dragons...

What happened to the upgrade price in europe? Yesterday it was the same as the $9500 price, now it's much higher (€10070), yesterday it was the same (€8755).
What is going on?

It seems all the prices changed no?

No, the US price is the same $9500, the exact amount but in euro with the current exchange rate is €8655.
But the price increased to €10070 over night. €10070 is not $9500 but rather $11053

This is not a normal price increase due to exchange rates. It's not even correct when using the current exchange rate.

I meant all the prices in Europe, not only the dragon upgrade but all products.

But what is going on? The prices aren't correct according to exchange rates, all EU prices are now a lot higher than US price, they aren't transfered correctly between the rates as they have always been.
Now, the final price for my Dragon upgrade is $1200 higher than yesterday and compared to anyone outside of Europe.

I'm not sure this is correct.

There hasn't been any change in exchange values, the prices should be the same. This just screws over a lot of euro buyers, especially now with the Dragon upgrade.
Actually the Euro exchange rate is higher today than a week ago compared to the US dollar. So it should really even be lower than last weeks rate.

This doesn't make sense at all, it's no longer the price that was promised before NAB.

Maybe they are now posting prices including VAT...

No, VAT is 19-20%. And there is the "plus vat" logo next to the prices.
Now, with VAT, dragon upgrade in europe is 40% more expensive than US price, 13300$.

I mailed them about the price change.

the response:

"This is because of the weak €. It is a price adjustment."
