  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Dragon upgrades

In case Jarred's words are lost in the thread here, what he's saying is Weapon will be an upgrade for Dragon owners. If you are a Mysterium-X shooter/owner you have until around April 2015 (NAB time) to upgrade to Dragon to get into the upgrade queue for Weapon. Whatever it is :)

To be explicitly clear that sounds like the Mysterium-X to Dragon upgrade path is coming to an end around that time as well.

Remember, Dragon upgrades started in 2013 and it appears that Weapon is landing around April 2015 for upgrade queue and around Summer 2015 for the first one's out of the gate.

Phill, Jarred just mentioned some posts before that this is all Dragons, Epic and Scarlet alike as some have been asking already. I also asked about Epic to Dragon upgrade (I paid in Dec 2014, haven't had time to send camera in!) timeframe and it seems to be just as you mentioned. Up to NAB for paid upgrade, and summer would be cut off point for physical upgrade. I'm expecting the usual fantastic on the hands updates and tests from your side once you get your hands on a Weapon! Always many thanks for these! cheers
 
Am I assuming right in that if I don't upgrade to Dragon, there won't be any MX to Dragon upgrade after this summer and the only thing that will remain is an MX to Weapon upgrade that will cost a fortune for MX owners? :confused5:

I didn't jump on the Dragon upgrade before the price increase and now I am in a position where the upgrade price is higher and there seem to be an end of the line for me this summer... that's kinda hard :undecided:

What are we talking about here financially? Is it possible to get a PM or something so I can decide more what to do. It seems a bit strange that you want us to upgrade to get something we don't know anything about because when we do know something about it, it will be too late to get the upgrade. Can we at least get some notion on what the final price of upgrading to Dragon including this addtion?
Because if it's something that push the cost way over $12500 to say $20 000, it might be too much even if it has a discount in it.

What's the "final" price of an MX to Dragon upgrade with this included? I, and I think many others, need to do the numbers on this before taking a leap of faith.

The doubt about whether Scarlet D is included in the upgrade path should be cleared up by this shouldn't it?

Hi Jarred, you don't have to share any information about the "Weapon". I only ask for a deadline date where you will terminate any Epic-MX to go into Dragon upgrade. Are we talking about end of April, May, June or later? Summer is by far the calmest period here, and would allow a absence of the camera for upgrade for a couple of weeks.

Sometime in late June most likely...
 
Since Dragon just came out, highly unlikely it's another sensor upgrade. Sure, mics on the front based on Jared's FB comment and the images...but the potential slimmer body as well...is it new brain and internal processing power that allows the dragon sensor to do more? Will these be sold new alongside new dragons, and if so, the price points? Or only available as upgrades for some time?

Unless I can get a job very quickly, it looks like I'll be sticking with my MX Scarlet for for the long haul...

That's pretty impressive timing to start switching gears to the whatever the Weapon is. I hope you're able to hit the ground running! Looking forward to seeing this in person at NAB.

Hi Jarred,
So my $60,000 worth of perfectly working (standard size) SSD mag's I have to now throw in the bin and replace with mini mag's? . oooooooooh.... That's not good mate.
Iv'e got a bit of coin as you know, but I'm not into throwing that sort of change in the bin, especially when they are all perfect condition and working.

i know this is a bit of an odd position to put you guys in especially for the newer guys that havnt been along for the entire ride...It is for sure a leap of faith.... it always has been and thats why we do the upgrade program, to reward those that take the leap of faith. You don't need to do anything. You can still buy a NEW weapon further down the road and not do the upgrade plan, but its just going to be way, way more expensive than if you follow along the upgrade path.

The reason I am telling you now instead of @ NAB is that it not only gives you more time to get your ducks in a row if you want to partake.. but also because if you have a Dragon before NAB you will be paying less for the upgrade to Weapon than if you get a Dragon after the first day of NAB and upgrade to Weapon. Its a bit of a double credit... You get a nice credit for having Dragon and going to Weapon, and you get an extra credit if you have already gone to Dragon before NAB.

I have already probably said to much... I would tell you the pricing and all the other info if only you guys were listening... unfortunately though we do have competitors and I am sure they would be very happy for me to spill all the beans before NAB.
