Dragon Update

When an order is placed, it is processed forthwith, as my BS rep tells me-great rep, BTW. If it takes 6 months to actually receive the camera and, say the warranty is nominally 1 year, there is only a 6 month warranty, "in hand?"

Warranty starts on invoice date. Which is the date it ships.

Thanks Domenic. My question was more about how long the upgrade program is going to stay active.

As we have said in the past, all good things come to an end : )

But, upgrading EPIC M-X to EPIC DRAGON, see that happening for a while. I think you have some runway there : )

Brent, I plan on upgrading an Epic in March...is that a safe window to work within?

I also plan on buying a Scarlet for Xmas, with intent of upgrading it in 2014 as well. No later than the summer - is this schedule reasonable? I obv would like to avoid buying an MX camera that runs out if it's upgrade path!

thx!

This is all great news! Thank you!

Quick question, where does time stamp come into play as I'm going from Scarlet to Epic Dragon compared with someone who's going from Epic to Epic Dragon?

Thank s again for all the hard work, much appreciated!

For the former, no problem. For the latter, have not discussed SCARLET upgrade window internally, so cannot really give you an answer one way or another.

I think I already replied to a post from Michael with this?

Brent,

Thank you for the quick reply.

I went through the thread and didn't see anything regarding "where does time stamp come into play as I'm going from Scarlet to Epic Dragon compared with someone who's going from Epic to Epic Dragon?

Thanks again as usual for getting us answers, much appreciated!

I have one question;

When upgrades we're announced, we reserved a spot in line for the SCARLET to EPIC-X Dragon upgrade. This was the exact same price as upgrading to EPIC-X (available now), and then upgrading to DRAGON when the time came. We have the funds to upgrade to EPIC right now, but held off, thinking that it would be simpler for everyone involved to just do the upgrade all at once.

Now I find that we are at the bottom of the line, whereas if we had jumped to the EPIC-X in the meantime, we'd be in a much better position. The monetary cost would have been the same either way.

Should I just call my bomb squad rep and see about starting the path to an EPIC-X right now then?

Date/Time stamp comes into play within your priority queue. So, first sort is priority queue, secondary is date/time stamp. Hope that helps.

Understood. Thank you Brent for Clarifying.

The only thing that seems weird to me is that an Epic owner who ordered Epic Dragon upgrade a month later than someone who ordered Epic Dragon upgrade from Scarlet immediately when announced will receive Epic Dragon before the Scarlet owner. Is this the case?

Thank you again for answering these tedious questions. It is greatly appreciated!

Brent,

Just out of curiosity, is HDR-X implementation for Dragons that have already gone out the only reason those cameras have to be returned or do the new calibrations and sensor tweaking Jarred mentioned also require a return to RED?

Yes, that falls in line with priority queue being primary sort then date/time stamp being secondary. Of course, people always had option to go SCARLET > EPIC M-X > EPIC DRAGON instead of just SCARLET > EPIC DRAGON path.

Don't know the exact scope, sorry. I am going off of Jarred's post as well in this regard : )

The new DSMC 2.0 Fan Kit (top and bottom) is included with new Carbon Epic Dragons and new Epic-M Dragons.

It's been officially answered a few times, but the new fans are not included as part of the upgrade path.
