  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Dragon Update + A.D.D.

From the outside looking in I think the trade in option makes a ton of sense in so many ways! Always thought this would be the best upgrade method but having both options is the BEST.

In process now, so we're excited...although we have to pay twice for new SSD Modules for both cameras plus $1,500 each for the new Mini SSD Side Modules we'd want. I don't quite understand that -why would we have to pay $1,500 for each camera for a Side Module we will never use?

I just got mine today too! Woo Hoo!! I was April 8th at 11:45 AM. So things are still moving!

Still moving indeed, I got my notice as well. Actually my bsr called me and told me. Time stamp 11:22am. Felt like I won the lottery. I cried with my BSR.
 
Yes I misread and then Bryan cleared things up. Still pumped and can't wait to test our Dragons out here in the "Polar Vortex" on the prairies.
 
Hey guys, I'm in for Scarlet to Epic Dragon upgrade (ordered first online day, minutes in, in fact, thanks to Jared), just wanted to check if the April/May timeline is still looking likely? I'll be overseas during April/May and back by mid-May, and just wanted to check out if I should prepare and pack my Scarlet for delivery before I leave, and leave it with one of my trusted ones to courier your way if I'm away when I get the email.

If not, all good, trying to tie up all loose ends I can!

Leave it unpacked - for a looooong time.
 
We did our a wire a week ago but it took til Monday or Tuesday to show up in Red's account (I sent them a papered confirmation it happened Friday from the bank). Then I was allowed to begin the RMA process...which meant me finally being able to ship Wednesday. I selected overnight priority to get it there 1030 Thursday (which was $130 premium on the 2 day air)...then I track it to see it's in Memphis with a clearance delay even though I filled everything out as per Red's instructions (presumably to minimize any delay). So I advise Red, to which I am told it will actually take a full day for them to communicate to Fedex to release the cameras and send them on to Irvine. So, Epic-M 491 and Epic-M 773 are supposed to arrive today -just in time for Team Red to head to Vegas.

My caution here to everyone is: if you want things to go smoothly wire your upgrade funds in advance of your number being called so when it does the RMA process can begin immediately and save yourself a few days of spinning your wheels. Do not pay for the one day priority for international air via Fedex or any other carrier as it's wasted money.

In closing, getting to the point of actually sending the cameras back took nearly a full year, even though my time stamp was 1101AM from NAB 2013. I'm hoping for a much better 2014! We can't wait to test Dragon on our own with ADD, and hopefully get some of the Alexa die-hards to take another look...

Eric -if you're lucky and I'm desperate! Kidding...I will probably put on some kind of event here and invite all the camera locals to have a look and then arrange to do some tests of their own (yes that means unsupervised).

We'll keep them for a short time but if nothing bites in Winnipeg we will ship them to our partners in Toronto...or anywhere else should people want them.
