  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

This industry is based on innovation. From the perspective of somebody who prefers the path of bleeding/cutting/blistering edge there are pains and gains that come with exploring new pipelines. However, for me that always seems to be better than lingering or holding onto dated workflows. I fully understand why it's difficult for large studios to sometimes explore "big change" as sometimes it's costly and time consuming. Same for little guys. Looking on the horizon and being away of trends or upcoming tech helps greatly. An open mind helps even more so.

I can't tell you how many Final Cut users who "hate" Adobe or Avid products who have never used them or gave them a chance. The opposite holds true as well.

I think in the next few months (and actually really in October) we're going to see a big shift in certain workflows. We'll have closed loop options via Adobe and full native integration with Speedgrade within Adobe Premiere Pro CC. For me this is extremely exciting as I love the Lumetri Deep Color Engine and how it plays with REDCODE RAW. Blackmagic Design's Davinci Resolve now has a much more robust editor and workflow. Redcine-X Pro now has GPU support and a new update on the way that will make that a wicked and wonderful free tool.

Extreme potential that has very real cost benefits in terms of saving time and even disk space.

With an industry that changes so rapidly adaption must be part of anybody's mindset if they want a career that lasts. The sooner that technological hurdle becomes second nature, the real creative freedom spawns. Unlocking a comfortable workflow is key.
