Toia, does 17:1 at 1080 (presumably 2k), look as good as vimeo makes it look or is it... uhh... getting vimeo'd (the process that makes vimeo videos look magically noise free)?

Vimeo is a good place to upload, but the original is alot better, far more smoother, no banding, better contrast, better tones, better color... just an over all joy to look at. I cringe when i watch the Vimeo version.

I created a few 4k files to watch.. Man o Man. ! It's no wonder Jim is so passionate about resolution. it's so nice it, it looks like you can put your hand into the screen and touch things.

Why not upload a 4K version on Youtube?

You can actually upload 4k files to Vimeo, it just won't stream it back. It can, however, be made available for download in the original format. If you're ok with people downloading the file, I'm sure we'd all be ecstatic to do so and see just how amazing it is.

Excellent job Mark. If you find a little free time - can you kick out a REDRAY encode at 4K and post a download link :)

Oooh, ooh, why didn't I think of that? Yes, please, that would be awesome! If Mark has time, that is...

Hi,

While doing the test shoots you have have become part of history(not you literally) which generation down the line will remember.
Whenever RED DRAGON will be discussed in future your name will be there....

Thanks to RED TEAM.......

Great job done as always.....

One benefit perhaps not yet mentioned with a cleaner images from the sensor is that the sensor would produce cleaner images when windowed. That is 5K, 4K, 3K, 2K, etc should look much cleaner. This means the higher frame rates at smaller frame sizes (2K at 300fps) could maybe handle higher ISO.

Mark, was that moon shot in the piece at 2K? Looks very clean!

David

Congrats Mark and the Red team, Dragon is what people expected to be.

We would like to have also, some Raw tiff stills if possible, to play with. Thanks.

Mark,

Can you please upload the same stills as single TIFFs files, using RLF/RC3? Or better, R3D stills so we can play with them in Resolve! PLEASE....:violin:

Respectfully,

That occurred to me too. I think Dragon will breathe new life into S16 glass and Zooms.

I did not have time to read the entire thread, but, no one has commented yet about the non-rolling shutter artifacts on the car's spinning wheels on the video?. Love it!.

BTW, did you notice how realistic and pleasant the skin tones are, coming from RCX with just a basic curve Mark applied to the RLF/RC# ? This is one of the areas that impressed me the most, aside from the clear gains of DR and low noise with high ISOs. Really spectacular!

Good call, is this just Dragon or Motion mount as well ?
