Dragon in Sri Lanka

Don't destroy Tom's Thread. He's going to do some great work ! and I'll be one to embrace and support his findings.

:)

Let's go TOM!!!

Thanks for doing this Tom!

We ALL look forward to it.

Wow.... woho...
I do not believe it. Dragon in my country?
Eager to see my country picture via DRAGON
thnx for your post Tom

Hi Tom,

Congrats on being one of the first to test the EPIC Dragon.
Looking forward for your input and imagery.
I hope this time around you'll get permission to post footage that represents the Dragon better.

I'd really like to see something like:
30 seconds of footage, graded lightly in RCX - uploaded at 2560p, 60fps, ProRes 4:2:2 10bit.

Oh, and if possible - some 6K frame grabs (TIFF or DPX).

Thanks

NIce my friend.
Show us some stunning images.
Cheers!!

I have the camera for one week, so feel free to ask specific things. No guarantees I can do them, because I am going full throttle on an actual shoot for my new film here here in Sri Lanka.

I will try to do a good side by side comparison with an MX Epic as soon as I can.

I will say this... when we first fired up Dragon and pointed it at the night exterior of our hotel last night, I heard a lot of "Oh DAMN!" and "Whoas" from the crew. :cheers2: There are few people on earth more obsessed with shooting in low light than I am, so I will definitely push the boundaries in that kind of testing.

Can't wait to see the footage and the comparison!

Cheers

Knowing you Tom and seeing what you've turned out in the past I can only imagine that 6K has been something you've been longing for. Looking forward to seeing some of your shots this week.

Hey Tom,
Thanks for the test. How about a challenge of seeing how many stops you can get from the sensor in one specific shot and also a side by side of the same shot with an MX exposed identically. Talking specs is one thing but seeing it is another. 16 stops is a lot, I think we all want a shot that easily shows 16 stops so the naysayers and critics can piss off (oh, and in TIFF format). Also, a night shot at 2000ISO of a skyline or such so we can see how clean it is. Thanks man!

TOm,
please slow motion in the night at 2000 iso, 6k 100fps and 2k 300fps I'm curious to see the difference of the current MX.:cornut:

Sorry, had to comment on your avatar. Too funny -- I got pulled over heading home from a shoot late one night, and my EPIC was outfitted in the same manner as your pic, buckled into the seat next to me. The officer looked at the camera and said, "Woah, that's one HELL of a camera. It looks crazy expensive - what do you do?" After we talked about it for a second, I found myself on my way minus any infractions. And no, I was not being a menace - was simply tired, driving 60mph -- in a school zone. Totally kidding about that last part.

Moral of the story: keep an EPIC nearby at all times.

Sorry...back to the more serious stuff.

Haha! Nice! Don't you love when stuff like that happens? When you don't have time to pack it up in between locations on a hectic day (but apparently have time to take a picture) Its best to treat it like a kid and buckle it up. lol ;)

Oh and yeah, anyway as I was saying before... go tom go!! :D

I'm in the field shooting now.
