  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

i have the same issue with the 18-35, which i guess is actually a 1.7 wide open? anyway...i am not sure what you are saying...open up all the way, go to the menu and enter (in this case) 1.7?

i just tried to type in the exact value in the advanced tab...it actually shows me the 1.7 there...but then it goes away (no f/stop display) and locks up....i think 3 betas ago this did not happen....
 
Is anyone else having problems with the fuji Cabrio 19-90 shutting down Iris on this build.
in either manual or automatic the lens stays closed on the Iris.
 
i had numerous problems with this build on Scarlet thank god it was not professional stuff i shot.Lost too many clips on SSD and now going back to Build 4.Anyone had similar problems like me?
 
I am currently workin on a shoot with two Epic Dragons. The second Dragon was recently returned to us from Red with the new firmware 5.1.26 while the other camera has the previous firmware, 5.1.23. So far the second camera with the latest firmware has had four data integrity issues in one day of shooting. The error message pops up on the screen, the camera stops rolling and I have to reboot the camera, log all critical information and send the mag to the DIT to check all data for errors. This obviously slows down production and in the end costs us time and money. The camera with the previous firmware has had only one Data Integrity Issue in four days of shooting.

Has anyone else had similar issues? We will send out logs to Red for feedback but unfortunately we are not in the states so the turnaround can sometimes be quite delayed. Any info or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Also, where can I get the specs regarding power consumption for the new camera? We are going through a lot more batteries than I am accustomed to with the standard epic so I want to try and determine if its a battery issue or an issue with the module or some other problem.

And lastly, what is a safe temperature range for the camera to run at? It seems to run hotter than the Epic but also appears to be able to handle the higher temperatures without any warnings.

Hi Jacob,

The data integrity issues are something to certainly contact Red about. I haven't experienced it myself, but you're likely shooting heavy days on Dragon.

As for power consumption, I haven't noticed any big differences between Mysterium-X and Dragon. However, this build might not have optimized power regulation built in. Red would know.

The one thing I can answer is the running temperature. Dragon operates at 55-70 degrees Celsius. I am an advocate of using the Adaptive Fan Mode between 65-70 degrees. Which keeps the camera warm while running while keeping the sound it generates via the fans very low.

Yes. Black shading needs to happen on the full 5K sensor, and since the max Fps of the Scarlet is 12 at full resolution, thats what happens.

Jacob, what resolution/compression setting were you using and to which type of SSD?
