Shipping dates? I did already pay full price for the Ronin! Before the huge price reduction...

But I have no idea, when I will get my Ronin... Whats up DJI?

My Ronin is being shipped out today to me ( London Camera Exchange who are awesome). Pity my Epic is at Red getting Dragon Upgrade.
Friend of mine has his, he has commented on it being very heavy compared to other gimbals he has used, but he's impressed with it otherwise.

Wait a second... There is no Android version for the DJI Assistant?

As funny as this may sound this is a good reason for me not to buy the Ronin yet. Often times I don't want to add a laptop to the list of gear I carry with me and the smartphone app solution sounded like an excellent idea!

Now why would a company choose not to support the most popular smartphone OS first is something I can't understand.

Android app is being worked on as we speak - please don't jump to conclusions... ;o)

Why don't you contact the dealer you have ordered from? DJI does not sell directly...

You could also chose to make a high investment on an iPod touch and put it in the case for Ronin use only. Ronin + iPod touch = still a steal!

They have only just started shipping and the last info was that DJI had 2000 pre-orders - and that was before they have dropped the price down to $2.999,- USD. It might be a while before you can just walk in and buy it somewhere. You best bet is to contact your local dealer ASAP and get in the line. Or try B&H...

Both were officially released by DJI on the now-closed group buy thread, you can still go there and see for yourself - or just search for posts by Willis from DJI...

Dealer is the only one that can give you this information.
Also - if the dealer decided on its own to take to full deposit of the original higher price - it is their responsibility to refund you the difference between it and the new lower price.

Konstantine - this is really impressive for pure mechanical stabilisation without any electronic or brute gyro assistance.
I can't wait to get mine to start using it with the Ronin!

This new designed Serene Arm took me back in the days of steadicam a few years back. Its solidly smooth, frictionless and with really non existence push pull forces. Very reactive. Iam sure since you are a steadicam person you will like this Peter.

So I'm having trouble keeping the Redrock MicroRemote follow focus powered while plugged into the 12v p-tap. I'm concerned it actually DOESN"T have enough draw to power it. Can someone comment on this? Also, can the allotted power draws be firmware updated if this is the case?

Hey Brock ,

just trying to help you troubleshoot - is the redrock losing power completely for a moment or sort of browning out?

reason I ask is that my redrock had a loose p tap wire until is resoldered it myself.

if for some reason the pins are not making good contact or there is a loose solder joint in the p tap cable it can be a real pain in the rear.

would definitely recommend trying it on another Anton Bauer plate and wiggling it around to see if it's just an "air gap" as we used to say.

I haven't personally tried to plug in a redrock system, but the cmotion 2-channel system works, can't think of a reason why it wouldn't work. Have you tried the port on the opposite side of the breakout box?
