  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DJI Ronin

So you would recommend the 24 inch cable over the 18.. and the thin version from Skyline. can you post a link to the cable supplier please.

Thanks

The 18" will not be long enough for changing the three modes of operation. Also it is rather stiff.
Links for various accessories (including the cables) are in the very nice thread concerning this. Let me look up the link later when I have a time. In the meantime just google Slackline LCD cable...

If you have nothing constructive to add please keep your "comments" to yourselves...

Peter, same goes to you but you don't get to decide any more than I do. With or without your permission I was expressing surprise at someone's comment. FWIW - I really have no idea why he would think that as it hardly makes sense.

....FWIW - I really have no idea why he would think that as it hardly makes sense.

Yes...no idea either cause it's not stated. Nothing wrong with a true negative statement as it can be debated yeah or nay.
But this remark is much worse it just leads to spreading of false rumors and half-truths and such.

But yeah Aaron is on record as having alot of problems with DJI equipment quality and customer service as have many..many others.
Willis has stated it's a new day at DJI customrer support...and let's hope so.

Got my shipping order today. Now looking for a good deal on an electric skateboard.

Hi folks!

I am glad to hear some of you have started to receive your Ronins! This is great! Please share your experiences and do not hesitate to ask any questions or provide any feedback.
Quick heads-up on the accompanied iOS application - please make sure to download the one linked on DJI's website...:

(the barcode)

The DJI Assistant on the Apple store is still waiting approval from Apple to include this latest version that supports the Ronin. This is just temporary and as soon as Apple approves the update - you can just search the AppStore for the app.
But in the meantime if you can not connect to the Ronin with your phone (and your BluTooth is ON) - just make sure you have downloaded the right application...

Cheers

Is there an osx based application yet? I won't even ask about Android support. I guess i'll go back to booting my mbp in Windows.

I've been told by the Australia Distributor that Units arrived on Friday and should be shipping out this coming week. Hoping to have the first unit in NZ.

There are no dumb questions Dan, only (some) answers can be dumb... ;o)

You can either get any of the free QR readers from the AppStore, or here is the direct link...:

(make sure you click on the link from any of the above listed supported mobile devices - it is not designed for PCs)

anyone know any place that has one in stock?

They have only just started shipping and the last info was that DJI had 2000 pre-orders - and that was before they have dropped the price down to $2.999,- USD. It might be a while before you can just walk in and buy it somewhere. You best bet is to contact your local dealer ASAP and get in the line. Or try B&H...

Thanks for this direct link.

I had to resort to the desktop assistant version since I couldn't connect via bluetooth... And in that program enabling briefcase mode wouldn't apply to the gimbal for some reason. I now have the assistant softward on my iphone and all is well.

Wait a second... There is no Android version for the DJI Assistant?

As funny as this may sound this is a good reason for me not to buy the Ronin yet. Often times I don't want to add a laptop to the list of gear I carry with me and the smartphone app solution sounded like an excellent idea!

Now why would a company choose not to support the most popular smartphone OS first is something I can't understand. :(
