I think it is also safe to assume that Willis will re-confirm the inclusion of the 1 x Thumb Control for the REDUSER GROUP BUY - but not sure whether this is included in the public release package...

Now fingers crossed that Euro dealers and especially our French distributor will apply that price adjustment, refund us and we'll still benefit of the Group Buy discount.
Hopefully this thing is global.

How much does that weight? Does the movement of the film from beginning to end change cg? Does that affect the performance? It seems like maybe the ronin motors are pretty strong...?!

This would be another 10+ kg setup...

Yes - the motors are really strong and forgiving. I am putting it through all sorts of stress tests related to real-life situations. I have even swapped a lens live while the rig was running and without re-balancing the rig - it worked fine. Not that this is recommended practice - there is no substitute to properly balancing your rig. But it is good to know when the situation arise that you are able to do this and not miss a crucial shot...

So 10 kg is gonna be fine with the ronin? For real?

The official payload is 16 lbs (or 7.25 kg). That is for the camera and all accessories directly attached to the camera. Then you add the weight of the rig itself. This bring the configurations on the upper limits of the payload at over 10 kgs. If you look at the updated pics on the first page of my thread - that cine config had total weight of 12 kg!
I am yet to test any real limits on the payload...

Globe Flight reduced the price to 3000€ incl. VAT
Thunder Tiger still 400€ less (2600€ incl. VAT)

Glad DJI reduced the pricing but I have to complain about one thing, normal, I'm French, we always need to complain ;)
Our distributor who contacted us on behalf of DJI now sells the Ronin for 2749€.
As we're European, there's no difference for us to buy in Germany or in France as long as we have a valid VAT number.
If DJI asks us to buy from one reseller between many, they should all have the same listing price, it would be fair.
On another hand, I'd like to hear from French Reduser what was told them about the new pricing.
Digistore, the French distributor, asked us a full payment. Now after I contacted him about the price change, they're offering me a credit which I don't care about, I wan't a refund. Beside that, no word yet on the GB discount.
I'm in two Group Buy on Reduser related to 3-axis gimbals and I'm stoked about what's happening with DJi and Willis had been great in exchanging with us.
Most of you, Guys, know that we're having multiple delays and communication issues with another brand.
I think the picture would be perfect here if DJI could "control" its reseller regarding their relationship with us, Redusers, that would be the cherry on the cake.

Hey Vincent,

This morning I called Digisitore and let me choose between refund or credit, I will phone again right now.

Edit : I phoned, they said it will be a refund and not a credit, I asked when, no answer, ask to speak to the people of charge of it and she was not free, will phone again in 30min.

Curious how you mount this set-up to a Steadi arm? Although an impressive collection of gear - it seems a bit heavy to hand carry much less elevate the lens to eye-line

That is the easiest bit about this setup - and exactly why I do not like to use those thin LCD cables to "tie" the control handlebar to the gimbal itself. You will see soon enough.
The weight is not an issue - certainly not for me, or any experienced steadicam operator out there. Actually mounted on a steadicam I wouldn't be surprised if it was lighter then the Helix with the "4th axis"... ;o)

I am trying to figure this statement out... lol

Are you saying the weight is not an issue when mounted on a steadicam arm? Well, no, why would it be - it's mounted on a steadicam arm - which bears most of the weight. And, so what if it is lighter since, as pointed out, the weight is borne by the steadicam arm. And just for the record, it very probably is NOT lighter as the Letus 4th axis is extremely lightweight at about 28 oz. http://www.pinterest.com/pin/create/extension/http://www.pinterest.com/pin/create/extension/

The rig in the photo is hand held and looks to exceed 20lbs. Not sure how you can top mount that to take the weight off via Steadi. Please explain

Merci pour ton retour Alexandre, je n'ai pas réussi à les joindre de mon côté.

No Terry - you have merged two separate answers to two separate questions. The weight issue was a direct reply to Zeb's comments about bringing the rig up to eye level. I have operated that exact setup in both underslung and upside-down configuration at an eye level and you will see I had no problems pulling nice shots like that in my final review video...
The comment about the Ronin being probably lighter once mounted to a Steadicam as when compared with Helix mounted to a Steadicam via its "4th axis" was separate. See the rest of the response bellow...

Zeb, yes - the rig in the photo is in a hand-held configuration, but there is no "umbilical cord" (read thin LCD cable, etc...) locking the actual gimbal to the handlebar. The handlebar is but one of many various platforms to which the Ronin can be easily swapped via its quick-release system.
You only need to mount the actual gimbal to the sled, not the handlebars. The sled "replaces" the handlebars. But there is much more to this that I can't share just yet...
