Yeah it seems like your $5k funded the production of the $3k gimbals (which they probably get much less from the retailer)

it seems so...it is very odd that we aren't given an immediate refund of the overcharge. I was told we won't get refunded until "after" the unit ships (date still unknown). When I asked why, I was told that "the $4500 was sent directly to DJI to fund the production of the initial units and that we won't get our refund until DJI sends the money back to the dealer which won't happen until the units ship"...seems like a strange way to run a business.

It'll be interesting to see if those of us who ponied up the money early end up paying the same as everybody else and get no special deal even though they've had our funds for sometime now. Old story- first to pay, last to know.

This is utter nonsense. Please state your source...
DJI clearly asked only for $ 500 USD deposit to be paid to the dealers.
AMP have decided on their own to take the full price upfront - this has nothing to do with DJI...
Do you really think that DJI has lack of funding? LOL

Please stop spreading FUD...

Peter

I also got the call from AMP about the price drop! This is absolutely insane! I was happy with the price as it was and now they chopped off a whole 25%!? How is this possible? I really hope the accessories that are said to be included aren't getting taken out? I really want that nice foam cut case and second operator controller! Still too good to be true if you ask me! :emote_22_yikes:

Ummm Peter, my source is me. All those that ordered from AMP paid in full up front.
The quote in my post above is directly from AMP employee that called me today. DJI chose to use AMP as the preferred dealer, I was told that if I wanted the special, I had to order from them.

Do you think I made this shit up? I have better things to do with my time.

I didn't make this shit up, I have better things to do with my time. This whole process has been shady at best.

Clearly you have made the post - but you have stated that "you were told" - this is what I was asking - told by whom...
Now you have clarify that it was an AMP employee - can you share his name?

And this is FUD. DJI has clearly stated this in this very thread that they only asked for $500 deposits and that it was AMP's own decision to charge the full price up front. DJI doesn't need funding for R&D nor manufacture - this is not your family / friends type small business operation. Not that there is anything wrong with those - but they indeed need such a funding. DJI does not. Their annual sales of the consumer level Phantom alone goes into millions of USD...

This is something AMP needs to clear up...

Are you suggesting I'm a liar?

Im not a moron Peter, I realize that DJI doesn't need my $4500...Im simply sharing what I was told by my dealer.

I find it odd that they aren't issuing immediate refunds for the money that have been holding for 30 days.
The money is my money...not AMPs. Extremely unprofessional if you ask me.

Hi Greg,

I was in Ahhhhh when I saw your post with my name attached to it. I thought that is impossible. I went down stairs and had all employees for a meeting. I asked, WHO SAID THIS. To my horror, one of my new employees from the shipping department came up with that statement, and said that he had told a customer that. I tasked a couple of guys from the shipping department to give a courtesy call to ALL ronin customers, to let them know of the price change, and to let them know they would certainly be refunded the difference. I wanted everyone to hear from us directly and not from some website announcement. It seems my guy added a few lines himself LOL. I will say that that is ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE. He apologizes deeply and says he is so sorry, that he should have asked someone higher up if he did not know the answer. I too apologize for any confusion guys. REST ASSURED the issue with my employee has been well taken care of. NO money was used for funding, and ANYONE can have a REFUND anytime they choose.

MOVING FORWARD

Everyone will certainly be refunded the difference. I did tell them to say wait until the package actually ships, just in case there are anymore changes, or if the customer wants to put that rebate money towards accessories or something.

Please understand, ANYONE can have a refund ANY TIME they want. Simply email me directly at patrick@aerialmediapros.com and I will be happy to take care of you.

Today was a bombshell from DJI. With a $1500 decrease in price that for sure would affect the group buy. The Group buy from AMP was at $5000 with 10% off plus free shipping and free battery. Now DJI Releases a deal of $2999 that blows away our group buy deal. There is not any profit left to give the same spiffs that we were going to do for the group buy at that price. It would literally cost me money to give $1500 off, plus all the free stuff.

As of right now, AMP will honor the new price that trumps our group buy deal. Anyone that bought from AMP will be refunded the difference.

I was told that we will receive both batches next week. So there should be no waiting, and no worrying if your in the first 50 or not. I will ship these out AS SOON AS THEY ARRIVE.

I will also see if there is something special I can do for you guys out of my own pocket.

In the mean time, if ANYONE has any questions or requests, PLEASE email me at patrick@aerialmediapros.com

Thanks so much for your support as we get through this.

Patrick

No Greg - I did not call you a liar - I have simply stated that it was that the information given to you was the FUD - this is also why I was asking who told you that...

Thanks Patrick for stepping in and clearing this up...

Yes Justin - this is the new price from DJI.
Obviously the dealers were given he information first so the can prepare and some ended up leaking it, or pulling the trigger and actually post it on their websites before DJI was able to make on official public announcement...
