DJI RONIN Group Buy

+ I already have a dragon/ epic.....We knew AMP's were able to sell RED equips....no big surprise here! I guess for us that already have RED Cameras...the deal is:

1. 10% off retail
2. Priority shipments ( in order of interest)
3. ops....there is no 3!

Orlando,

AMP will be offering something more in the forms of $$$ saving s through additional accessories. When DJI decided to add other dealers to our group buy, it introduced some new things so to say. In order not to upset other dealers that can not match our deal, we can not POST the exact additional savings that we will offer. I will contact everyone that decides to purchase through us, and will give them their added incentives.

Thanks,

Patrick

Did I miss the post that tells us what comes with the package? I can't seem to find anything on what we're putting a deposit down for. What exactly is included?
I have to say I'm pretty surprised that the long-awaited post with the actual GB discount didn't include ANY information about what the package includes? Willis, please provide us with some specifics regarding service and support, and what is included (and not). Accessories, R/C units, case, batteries, etc etc …… there is a TON of information missing here. I also would love to see some unbiased hands-on from at least a couple people, other than DJI videos. Zeb definitely needs to be at least one of those who gets to beta this unit, he's put together an amazing group buy here! Excited but a little wary - my 2 cents.

I assume that will all be detailed when we're contacted by dealer of choice - but I would expect to have the details from DJI directly in this thread.

Blah. I selected a NYC dealer as I figured I'd save on shipping. But if I'm going to be paying more in accessories anyways that the LA based dealer will include for free, then this becomes a total crap shoot.

Total clusterf**k.

Really swell way to turn off excitement. Next time, work with Zeb to iron out details instead of this mess. Atleast it feels like that to me now.

Sounds like a grab bag of miscellaneous coupons.

I'm in total agreement with the others -- where are the details?

we can not POST the exact additional savings that we will offer. I will contact everyone that decides to purchase through us, and will give them their added incentives.

Patrick

Nikhil,

Sorry bud, I understand your frustration. I wish I had info for you sooner as I would have been happy to get on here and post right away, but Zeb and I really had very little info on this. We are just rollin with the info as Willis at DJI releases it. I will update you all as soon as I start getting the list of customers from DJI. Thanks for your patience bud.

Willis assured us we'd be paying refundable deposit when details become clear. Are you sticking to this script?

Thanks

Sorry, but this is getting ridiculus..

no review outside of DJI, ordering to get the info what is included in the deal, multiple dealers with different packages, but nobody can know whats included? 10% off that will be lost (shipping) if we europeans order from the US..

this is really the place and way to get a first impression about how professional DJI is handling our professional needs now and aftersales..

way to go! i'm really concerned now if ordering at this time is the right thing to do..

Willis,

Some honest feedback.

I hope you see this is turning sour and will quickly pivot to make this a better situation. Sure, you'll sell units regardless of what you do, but this isn't nice.

A transparent, equitable groupbuy is the best way to do this. I understand none of this is easy, and I'm unable to dictate what the solution should be, but whatever it is, you should at least publicly list the packages for both group buys (AMP and rest) and let people make the decision whether they prefer the addl accessories or proximity of dealer.

Please change my dealer now to AMP from what I had it when I submitted the form. I did not realize there'd be this weird dichotomy and i much prefer the accessories to a dealer that's local.

I won't even talk about not keeping Zeb looped in, because clearly that'd have been the right way to do this, and for whatever reasons, you were unable to. That's just too bad.

Thank you.
Nikhil

ordering to get the info what is included in the deal

You don't need to order - just express interest with a preference for a particular distributor. DJI will pass your request to the distributor who will then contact you with the details of their respective offer and the instructions on how to place your order should you still wish to do so...

Agreed, but i would still need to register with DJI multiple time with any dealer just to make an informed decision on which way to go because this whole process is intransparent..
so my initial point still stands.. sadly

As awesome a rig this and the Letus rigs seem to be, putting down a deposit or "committing" to a group buy without knowing for sure what the group buy package is for sure is really frustrating.

Please share with everyone what the package consists of. Then we can all figure out if it's a great deal to be apart of. I wish Letus would have done this...now I need to get my deposit back from them but that was the only way I could get details...which I'm not too excited about.

With all of the long delays BeSteady sure knew how to do a kick ass group buy package. So If the Ronin group buy is remotely close to what they did I would be a happy camper. Anything less would be a major let down. This price would be very good for a full group buy package.

Daniel, You wouldn't have to register and choose all the dealers to find out their deal. All the other dealers are the same and they can ONLY offer the flat 10% discount off MSRP of $4499. We will be the only ones to offer an additional savings, one of which is a Free battery and Free shipping in the USA.

Hey guys,
Apologies for the delay on what the package contents were. CineGear was, well... pretty busy. Here is the list of contents

1x Ronin Gimbal
1x Ronin Intelligent Battery
1x Ronin Battery Charger
1x Dual mini 15mm accessory rods
1x Lens support base
1x Remote Operator Controller 2.4ghz
1x Camera Dovetail Plate
1x Collapsable tuning / balancing stand (able to take top part off to mount on a baby pin)
2x Top Bar Accessory Mounts
2x 1/4" Camera Screws
2x 3/8" Camera Screws
1x Allen Wrench Set
1x Accessories Pouch
1x Custom Molded Pelican-Style Carrying Case with hard foam
1x Power Breakout Box

That's a great package! But I thought the thumb control for single operator came standard with the pkg too? I remember heAring this in the nab videos

What an amazing package!! Oh man I am so excited! Just sent my request to Aerial Media Pros! Can't wait to get my hands on one of these bad boys!! :)

Hi Willis,

Thanks for reviewing the status of Ronin, at length, with me today, at Cinegear. Please forward those comments I had to the manufacturing segment of DJI. There was really a lotta buzz about the Ronin and it was useful to handle the prototypes. Any timeline on a production unit, for testing purposes?

Thank you very much

Fury

Any chance you could share your thoughts with us? We understand they are prototypes but we at least have an idea what we are buying into. I remember when Phil released his findings on the Xenon FF prototypes he tested, that still didn't stop the GB on those lenses even with Phil clearly stating he wasn't buying in.

Thanks
