  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

From what the guys were telling me at their booth during NAB. With the max payload you won't be able to flip it on its side using the side handles into the so called "slim mode". Is this still going to be true for the production models?

How much does the Ronin weigh again? If its 6lbs, and you are flying 16lbs, that's 22+! That's a lot of weight! I know guys on MoVi's flying 12lbs that get tired!! But having a higher max payload is probably good to use if NEEDED; even if lower payloads may be more manageable...

1. Final Deal Points = will provide ASAP with the understanding that the more specific info we can get from RED/DJI/AMP, before sending anyone money, the better. Critical to know is dealer Initial Stock Allocation Quantity (is AMP getting 20 or 200 in the first 30 days?), available bundle programs and the other questions from the above Wish List. Working on this and will report what is verified by the principals.

2. Ronin dry weight = DJI would not disclose since it was a prototype at NAB. Maybe 5 or 6lbs with battery? Hard to say but Dragon gimbal flying is not an activity for the weak . . . so hit the gym flabby men.

3. Slim Mode Max Weight = not real concerned, Austin was able to get a C-Dragon to flip sideways at times. Beefier motors and maybe a tethered battery on hip with SwitchBlade instead of SideHandle would shave off weight. Hey, a C-Dragon saves you a pound . . .

My Vimeo video is #2 on Google search with almost 20K views (#1 on Vimeo search). The YouTube version is #4 on YT search with 12K views. This thread has 17K views with almost $750K in stated interest! Certainly raising the brand awareness for the Boyz at AMP, DJI and RU. Hope DJI/AMP shows us RU little people some love for the effort, early adopter risk and viral vid . . .

Zeb - can AMP arrange for my unit to ship directly from DJI to my address in Japan? This will save drastically on double shipping, triple customs handling and double taxation - never mind the saved time. DJI should still count the unit as being sold through AMP (if thats what they want) and in that case I will always contact AMP for support, etc. But I am also happy to deal directly with DJI - which ever way...

I think folks in Europe and other places around the world outside of USA would like to hear answer to this as well...

BTW: Currently "DJI Ronin" in Google search is returning the Vimeo vid (with links to this thread) . . . at #1
It bounces around between spots 1-5 on Google.

I'm thinking that in a short time we could reach 200 "Interested" on the GB which represents $1M in potential sales. That escalated quickly ;-)
