DJI RONIN Group Buy

In all the videos of reps talking at NAB they mention the second controller (at least) and I believe the thumb control is included for around 5k. I'm sure it's subject to change. Would love a complete package but a couple hundred above or below to get it is livable provided that it works great and is supported professionally.

Zeb,

The Aerial Media Pro guys have made it very obvious that there will be a multirotor attachment at some point. Can you ask DJI if we can position ourselves for a group buy on that as well?

DJI is aggressively pricing this unit out of the gate to the masses for sure, but I'm lead to believe the normal $5K price tag DOES NOT include the thumb control, custom case, multiple batteries/ charger, RC control, custom Red Epic cables, in essence; a full on ready to shoot package.

I know you're not a big fan of the way they have done business, but the BeSteady 4 group buy was priced lower than this unit and group buy members ONLY will be receiving the first 80 or 90 custom Red anodized gimbals as well... but what makes it a truly spectacular GB is that it includes EVERYTHING under the fookin sun (thumb control, multiple batteries, custom Reduser case, red epic cables, RC remote, the list goes on..)

Yes, those guys are late with delivery and communication has not been good by any means...but just looking at everything as a potential customer and seeing what was accomplished with that group buy less than half this size, I would say a $1M Group Buy that translates to an early delivery ONLY would be a HUGE let down. Not saying that's the final decision or anything, just think that a group buy of this magnitude should reach for the sun and the stars. Give them hell (in a good way) with your demands ;)

AJ

Can you, or really anyone following this thread, please specify what your dream comprehensive package is so I can add that to the Master Wish List here:

I think a kit like this would be optimal:

1 Ronin full 3-axis stabilizer rig with handles
2 Batteries
1 Battery charger
1 Universal multirotor adapter
1 Ronin Stand
1 Remote Control Unit
1 Thumb Control Unit
1 Manual
1 IOS/ Android App, Computer Software, etc.
Shipped in a custom Ronin PELICASE

Thank you Adam!

Thank all looks very doable and the base kit I want. I know that the good folks at DJI HQ are real-time monitoring this thread so please keep posting your thoughts and ideas. Those damn kids over on the Letus thread are out posting us like 2:1 ;-)

No problem :)

Yes, they are posting away over there. Gotta love Letus' instant feedback in making a kick ass product.

Zeb,

Please make sure that the boys over at DJI give us a full set of the quick release system so that we can attach the gimbal to various gears. I don't know exactly how it works since we haven't seen it yet, but for my purposes I want to be able to easily attach/detach the Ronin from both a octocopter and a cable cam.

Keep up the good work!

I second Adam's list and add a critical feature to those of us who have multi rotors and wish to use a Ronin airborne as well as handheld.

Depending on how DJI tackles adapting a Ronin to a multi rotor I think it would be extremely helpful to offer a Ronin with landing legs similar to the Freely Movi MR. With this setup an operator could mount the Ronin to a base that has landing legs that would then interface with a multi rotor. Once done with aerials an operator could release the Ronin from the landing legs and attach the handle bars.

1 Ronin full 3-axis stabilizer rig with handles
1 Landing gear assembly
2 Batteries
1 Battery charger
1 Universal multirotor adapter
1 Ronin Stand
1 Remote Control Unit
1 Thumb Control Unit
1 Manual
1 IOS/ Android App, Computer Software, etc.

Totally interested, is there a cost yet? Sorry if I missed it...

kind regards
Colin
