  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Discount? (If Red Dragon owner - Previous to NAB)

Is it likely that everyone will know the pricing before NAB for the required deposit as well as the total price?

I guess it means that if you order the weapon upgrade at nab and put a deposit you will have a 2500$ discount over the normal price of the weapon upgrade.

This is so awesome and generous- thank you Jared and Red team!

Questions: Will there be anything that Weapon won't do that Epic Dragon can? What I mean is- will any features be left to die such as HDR, as an example, which almost didn't make it to Dragon. I realize Weapon sounds like an improvement all around. Also, if the weapon does everything the Epic Dragon can do and more- will all features be active at launch or arrive later with firmeware upgrades? Personally I'm pretty sure I'll be placing a deposit asap but I'm just curious. Thanks!

I am curious... is this the benefit that was promised early on for owners of Dragon prior to NAB? Or, is this an additional incentive to order early?
 
For those of us in between checks at this moment, any idea of how bad the deposit is going to be? I didn't realize the extra incentive window is so small, I guess I'll shoot out remaining invoices today and start trying to intimidate the producers now... "but guys I need a new cammmmerrrraaaaaaa" :p

+1 on this one..

Still have to do the dragon upgrade, only makes sense for me to do it NOW (before NAB) if there would be a discount benefit... that is not only for if i order the Weapon also in this timeframe.

I can see an accessory package as part of the early adoption of the Weapon Package, like they did with the Epic. That is, I see an upgrade pkg that includes the Skull, the monitor, and maybe a couple of XL batteries. Probably buying off the shelf or upgrading later will require a separate purchase of these items to go with the stand-alone Brain.

The biggest incentive for your situation in my mind is upgrading to Dragon prior to NAB to still get the early adopter price, because it's been hinted that it's going up after NAB. and of course the MX to Dragon program ends all together around June 2015.
 
Guess a bit of confusion with Credit versus Discount. Is it a "Credit" as mentioned just now (for buying within NAB week) as well or instead of a "Discount" as thought to be said earlier (meaning less of the price of Weapon).

A credit would be fabulous but makes me think that the cost to upgrade to Weapon is gonna be huge. Discount is nicer for those scraping by but then again I guess it depends on what needs to be swapped out to work.

Don't mind me. I'm just rambling...

This is crazy!! I wonder what the Red line up is going to be like. Will they remove the red scarlet? Will the EPIC's become cheaper? April needs to get here now!!:drool:

Could you please give direction, for those, who are not on Facebook or whatever, but are certainly here on RU, as to where the announcement, for ordering upgrades will be issued. I vote, without requesting a poll, that either by email to registered owners, preferably, or here on RU.

RED has a tradition of doing something around midnight st the end of Sunday before NAB right here on REDuser. And as per usual the other things learned on the floor sprout here.

Remember that well. Hoping I. for one, don't have to rely on those, who on and monitor various sites. An email notification/text to registered owners wouldn't hurt sales, IMHO and make for a more controlled wait.

I'm hoping we get at least some pricing info before NAB hits. I doubt I'm alone in thinking that I'd like to take advantage of the early deposit/discount, but I need to be able to plan and it'd be nice not to have to figure all of that out during NAB or be left behind.

Hi Jarred,

With all respect, I do not think giving current Dragon owner just the week of NAB to decide would benefit many us.

Such a short time frame to decide when we have no input from real life experience would be very hard decision especially if the deposit go up to thoundsands of dollar . From the financial side, it would be difficult to have the fund in a week and send it to Red if the deposit go up to few thoundsand dollar.

I myself have saved the fund for the upgrade but with the understanding that the credit would last longer I have committed to buy some HMI and grip in early April and have no penny left until next month.

Just my 2 cents for your consideration to extend the credit time frame.

Well the major down side for me (other then being super broke atm) is I'd like to go for Carbon Weapon but such a short window probably solidifies I will be getting a normal weapon, simply to not miss the incentive. I mean I'll try to make it work and send out my remaining invoices tonight, I just really hope the deposit is small, even if its 20k on the back end...
