  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Discount? (If Red Dragon owner - Previous to NAB)

title says it all... Did someone at Red confirm that owning the Dragon prior to NAB will give you a discount on the Weapon Upgrade?

Anyone conform what it is?
 
Yes. Although I'd clarify that Dragon ownership gives advantages but not absolutely sure they are "discounts."

No one knows exactly what those advantages will be.

Yes, Jarred has said anyone who has a Dragon BEFORE NAB will be eligible for some kind of discount for Weapon - what that discount is, however, has yet to be revealed...

Check Phil's Dragon info sticky, that seems to be all the relevant data.
 
Do you have to physically be at NAB to get the "NAB pricing" ?

Didn't see a discount for Weapon announcement either, but it was stated that pre NAB Dragon owners will get some advantages upgrading to Weapon. These may include discounts, free bundled accs etc. Or something else.
 
Jarred also said that serial number would gie the low umbers-a priority within a given group, such as the Carbi=on Fiber owners. I realize that there have ben posts that vary, but, i, for one, amplanning on my #41 as a high priority for Weapon/Stealth. Kilgroe also posted fairly recently about the serial number priority.

With all due respect to early adopters and supporters, honestly, I think that this principle should be reconsidered and transformed to some kind of a compromise. I mean I wasn't even a part of the industry when red one concept was conceived so I could not support RED at that time even if I wanted to. Now I have money and will to support the company but seems that I'm forever doomed to be xxx in line just because I couldn't be there at the beginning...
 
@Fury - You're top of the queue already as you have a Carbon Dragon, but the answer to that is:

Additionally, Serial Number is not a factor in the Weapon upgrade. Fulfillment will be based on the camera type you are trading in, meaning this priority:

1. Carbon Dragon
2. Epic-M Dragon
3. Epic-X Dragon
4. Scarlet Dragon

Then within each group it will be by date and time stamp of your order placed.

This is official, so plan accordingly.

It is a healthy credit, enough to buy a new 512GB mini-mag or something else you have your eye on to augment your new camera. But that credit is just available the week of NAB, and just for those that have a Dragon or have already began the process of upgrading their MX to Dragon.

Cool.. Any chance I can just pay now? 3 cameras... I am shooting a painful comercial (plus a load of other support content) that week and the day NAB opens I will be unable to be by a computer... At the moment my option B is paying someone to sit hitting refresh (with my details)
