Feel free to ask questions after you've checked out the link.

Thanks Todd. New features of Speedgrade look good. The example of Steve Forde using refine matte on trees with a nice soft mist behind them is a bit lame though. How about doing a sky replace with trees with a real sky behind them.

Wow.....
Guess I have to learn cinema4d now....the only 3d package I haven't used...

No need for the plugin anymore.

Really excited about the new integration with C4D, can't wait! Also, is the Adobe Labs plugin install for RED files officially gone? We can just import R3Ds and get to work?

Thx Todd, much better example.

In regard to stereo workflow- does Speedgrade have a stabilizer? and can it output Cineform avis?

Nice

There was some very cryptic mention of mercury engine monitor output for SG without any further explanation.

from the speed grade preview pdf, does not seem to support DeckLink cards, or at least not mentioned :

Mercury Transmit
Grade with confidence using reference-quality external monitoring on Mac and Windows thanks to Mercury Transmit support for selected third-party video IO cards, including graphics cards from AJA and Matrox. In addition, native support for NVIDIA SDI-Out cards allows for external monitoring on Windows machines.

A nicely filled update, great work!

Being biased -- I like of course Cineware a lot. ;o) A game changer.

Using Ae since v3.1 this feels like one of the larger updates to me.

I'm happy to see that the RED part is updated as well. Wonderful.

My best wishes for NAB!

It would be pretty disappointing if BlackMagic wasn't on board. I would imagine they're scrambling to rectify this. They may be going to announce something at NAB so they don't want to spoil all the fun yet.

They who? If you mean BM, then I would highly doubt it. Simple fact, that PP and AE work with BM card, but SG doesn't should tell you pretty much all you need to know about the competition between SG and Resolve.

Here are details of the Cinema 4D features in the next version of After Effects:

One of the handy links there is a comparison between Cinema 4D Lite and Cinema 4D Prime and the other editions.

Will there be an upgrade path from Cinema 4D Lite to Cinema 4D Studio? It would be swell if one could simply bump up the cost of Creative Cloud to include Studio.

Maxon will sell you an upgrade from Cinema 4D Lite to Cinema 4D Studio.
