Congratulations

Congratulations

JIM. I´M HAPPY! THANK YOU!
CONGRATULATIONS RED TEAM!

SCARLET FIXED ZOOM IS PERFECT, AND SCARLET S35 TOO.

BEST COMPRESION FOR SCARLET S35 5K. LOGIC & PERFECT.

If you shoot on FF 1080P have you got better qualitty per frame (less compression) than shooting at 5K?

Please stop designing, you have reach the Everest.

We all want to enjoy these cameras!

Thank you!

I´m going to sleep happy,

Bye!

not to get into name calling, but you're a moron.
I...my first post officially calling you a total bloody retard.
Chill a little dudes......

You can just upgrade your red one to M-X and then send in your upgraded red one for a FF Epic - 17.5K

that looks to be the go with the present announcements.......

i'm also saying that the FF35 is the camera people really want and if there was a way (of course there is) they'd jump over the SS35 option and head directly to the FF35.

But what I'm asking is what is the SS35 to FF35 upgrade....$35K.

all kudos/thanks to Jim and co but its a legitimate question isn't it??

D

Well, let's do the math:

4K = 4096 x 2160 resolution

therefore

4K = ~8.8MP

I don't think it's that easy though - if you open Photoshop and create a new image that's 4096 x 2160 - the file size is very different depending if it's a 16, 24, or 32 bit image.

28K to compact flash... hmmm...

No, really, even at 30fps--what kind of insane datarate, monster raid, do you have to write to?

Does it do RAW too? With compact flash? :sarcasm: RedRay VTR is the answer to your question. :w00t:

What is Dick-Wads mean?

Is that like zitty penis head, ya?

Yes something like that.

At the risk of being banned; The retard club is a club I would love to come visit someday when they are having a circle-jerk in the park bitching about life, so I can personally kick every single one of their asses.

I will stop now.

Awesome stuff guys. I'm wishing I was a part of all this some how so I could feel proud. Jim, don't listen to the whiners. You're doing amazing things.

I see a price drop in the region of 2K$ for all Monstro brains... :)

Unless he wrote MB instead of MP, the file size has nothing to do with the NUMBER OF PIXELS.

Well...

Price info is wonderful and competitive as ever - thank you.

I had hoped for something more concrete than 'weve solved many engineering problems! Meanwhile, here is the price info and a black background'. The Epic X is an awesome deal but since I don't have a RED One, it's sort of academic. I didn't see anything technically different there - The sensor said 'mysterium-X select' rather than Mysterium X and it was RedCode 250 rather than 225, but otherwise the frame rates et al seemed identical to the Epic s35?

The $3750 kit option for the Scarlet Fixed Zoom looked attractive - presumably this involves something like a RedHandle and storage plus an EVF...but it's sort of teasing to allude to its existence with no explanation. I hope a similar kit at a similar price point with be available for the Scarlet Cinema. I'm leaning towards the latter, but must say that $500 seems like a great price for the fixed lens (the difference between the fixed and Cinema modules). Nice too to see the competitive pricing on the larger Scarlet brains. Oh, and HD scaling is of course Win in all its varieties.

Criticisms: I wish you would be more specific about things. 'burst mode' for example - I get the concept, but how many seconds, 2, 10? I sort-of know or can extrapolate pixel counts on the sensors, but could you just tell us what the numbers are? Similarly with Redcode - I know you think it's great, but please turn those numbers into something specific. Eg is Redcode42 equivalent to 42mb/s, etc.? If so, why not explain as much to your prospective buyers? Leaving them to puzzle over it is good marketing, but also annoying in ways.

For example, if you're looking at a new computer or new car, and the advert says 'FAST multicore processor' or 'high power engine!' you'd probably feel a bit underwhelmed, lacking more detailed specifications. There's much talk here about Monstro's increased dynamic range, but not a word about this in your brochure - if this was my first introduction to RED cameras I would assume that the only difference between the sensors was resolution. I get that it's all subject to change...but I had expected a lot more data sheet type information. I know, I'm just a big nerd in search of your cheapest camera deal, which is probably a loss leader anyway.

Anyhoo....the recently added mini-dolly will be a must-have accessory. I am not so sure about the RED Spikey ball.

It must be a full moon tonight.

any idea about module prices? the power handle, power modules, remoter, etc...

thx! ;)
