Looks like there will no technical reason for poorly graded footage anymore, other than the human error.
Hasn't that been the case already? There's no voodoo in the high end grading suites really, you can do all the same stuff with cheap software. The only thing that's different is the time it takes.
My take is a little different. I don't think anyone can be a colorist just as not everyone can be a DOP, or director, or VFX artist, or stunt guy. Each has their own skill set. For example; I am personally low on the colorist skill set scale compared to many but maybe higher on workflow and management.
The great thing today is BMD is offering the tools for those with the right skill set, so the 'cost of goods' is not the limiting factor it has previously been. If you have the skill set to be the best colorist in the world, or your street, you can now afford the professional tools for the task.

Does anyone know if there is a limit in the software to how many GPU cards Resolve will use on a Mac or is it just a limitation that you can't get more than that two GPUs in a Mac Pro?
If you got a x16 PCIe expander and put four GT285s in your Mac Pro would Resolve software be limited from using them?
Dusty
Yes, there are limits. PCIe has the concept of "lanes", usually a per-slot maximum. You can't create more lanes by using an expander; you can just spread the existing lanes over more slots.
