  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DAVINCI RESOLVE and ***HACKINTOSH***

after much thought. im goin to go return the460 and pay for the 470s. haha

Do they have to be EVGA or any company is fine?

Guided me step by step, and now I have a super MacPro 4.1....The system is a bomb! :drool5:

The system is up to Snow Leopard 10.6.7 with the latest drivers for QuadroFX 4800 and CUDA :thumbup:

PS : I can also just buy a keyboard and mouse, the original and maybe even a MacPro tower case!!

good question :)
yes system work with 10.6.4 10.6.5 10.6.6 10.6.7 with 6 core i7(vanilla kernel), the problem is installation ,but the dvd is 10.6.3 and kernel of this not support i7 6 core.... In this moment no have a 6 core here for make and test installer.
Next day i try put kernel 10.5.0 in my installer .... not simple ....
Alternative installation is you have a little i7 for example i7 920 , install os 10.6.3 update to 10.6.7 and change processor .

I have another question, does Blackmagic Decklink Extreme 3D support 10bit RGB 4:4:4 over HDMI to an HP Dreamcolor? can one use a different card than Blackmagic Decklink Extreme 3D?

For blackmagic 3d :
Multiple Rate support SDI, HDMI and component analog video connections are switchable between standard definition and high definition. SDI switches between 270 Mb/s standard definition SDI, 1.5 Gb/s HD-SDI and 3 Gb/s HD and 2K SDI.
Video Sampling 4:2:2 and 4:4:4
Color Precision 10 bit
Color Space 4:2:2 YUV and 4:4:4 RGB


For your question about another card, my reponse is yes but in this moment i decided to support only DAVINCI RESOLVE and Blackmagic DeckLink HD Extreme 3D with my Asus p6t7 WS.:001_smile:

in this moment support only ASUS P6t7 Ws SUPERCOMPUTER mainboard.
I'm sorry would otherwise be too many already and it is not easy .

Little test with REDROCKET card.
I repeat , this is just a test , DAVINCI RESOLVE 7.1.1 add only BLUR 100 % correction.
For testing my hack run for 2 days in loop with effect . System result in perfect stability .
here are the results.

FIRST TEST:
CPU i7 950 3.08 ghz
18 gb ram ddr3
4 hd 500 in raid0 with raid soft apple whit my interl sata ich10
4 gtx 470 evga
1 blackmagic 3d
1 REDROCKET card

A: whitout rocket card 4.5k to 1080 24p :
1/4 resolution whitout node is in real time 24 fps
1/4 resolution whit 15 node is in real time 24 fps
1/2 (good) resolution without node is about 13 fps-15 fps
1/2 (good) resolution with 15 node is about 11 fps - 13 fps
FULL PREMIUM resolution without node is about 3-5 fps
FULL PREMIUM resolution with 15 node is about 2-3 fps


B: with rocket card (see video) 4.5k to 1080 24p:
1/2 (good) resolution with 19 node is real time 24 fps
FULL PREMIUM resolution with 15 node is in real time 24 fps

SECOND TEST :
CPU i950 3.08 ghz
