Thank you Rohit. I can't stress enough how important Resolve has been for my HDR workflow the last few years.

Unfornately, I get the dreaded "Error 77 " when I try to playback any red 8K footage on a 4K DCI timeline. I also get much better playback with 6K footage on a 4K DCI timeline with a "Full Debayer" quality if I use a "Proxy" of "Half" under playback and a "Debayer" only setting.

With "Decompression and Debayer" and a "Full Debayer" quality , The video clip bearly moves.

This update fixed what was broken on Resolve for me. I am now finally able to "Render at Source Resolution" again in the Deliver page. I almost threw my computer out the window earlier this week, but with this update it finally works.

i SOOOOOOO wish this was released last week! LOL

DC,

Glad this update resolved your issue, no pun intended. It's kinda funny , you had the problem with Resolve earlier this week and my system was fine. I'm having the problem now and your system works fine. HaHaHa

Thanks alot Rohit!

Which two new parameters?

Todd,

1) Chroma Noise Reduction
2) Flashing Pixel Adjustment

There is a new Red SDK in this update and it looks like there is a bug with CUDA when deciding anything other than full-res premium on older GPUs. The latest gen 2080/RTX definitely works fine.

We’ll investigate.

Thanks alot Rohit For looking into this, It is very much appreciated by me and everyone else in this forum!!

Rohit,

After uninstalling and re-installing Resolve 16.2, I get real-time playback with these settings for 6K r3d files. Low compression 8K r3d files are still a "No Go" and probably always will be with my Laptop's configuration and Graphics Card. Although the higher compression 8K files plays with some stutter at times.

1)I max-out the memory allocated for Resolve and Minimize the Memory allocated for Fusion. I make sure that "Cuda" is selected with "Manual" Selection.

2) I was able to go back to using "Decompression and Debayer" for "Use GPU for R3D"

3) And the "Proxy" Mode under "Playback" set to "Half Resolution", completes the realtime playback of 6K .R3d files.
