Still from my first shoot w/ upgraded Epic Dragon. I like this 6k stuff. I was previously pulling stills from 4k and 3k which were still good quality, but the 6k resolution is very nice. Note: Unedited jpg file. I realize noise can be cleaned up, necklines can be smoothed out, etc. I'm just pleasantly surprised about what the image looks like coming straight from the camera.

1280 ISO w/ STH OLPF, Contax 35mm f/1.4 @ 1.4 - wanted to see the resolution/apparent sharpness wide open. Noise definitely present but isn't horrible to me, can't wait to see what the LLO can do once I get it.

Nice work Arthur! Out of interest, what were you lighting with that required such a high ISO when at 1.4?

It was actually an in between stage of the shoot. Started mid afternoon with natural light from a window that was next to the couch the model was sitting on. This shot was taken right before dusk before we broke out the lights. I shot a few shots during this time period to see how far the sensor would go, and the results were much better than I expected. I did hear that 1280 ISO is the max I should push the STH OLPF so I stuck there to see if it was workable in other low light situations I'd find myself in. Hearing that I could go up to 2000 with the LLO is promising.

Was this pulled down? Can you push it far enough to see into the shadows (hair) before it breaks down? I'm guessing if it's STH @ 1280 it's already pretty close to max... Was this RG4?

Any chance for a .r3d?

No curve or edits on the image (as far as I can remember, it's been a few days since I last looked at the footage, I am 99% sure I just did a snapshot in redcine-x w/o edits). Should be RG4, whatever the default is in redcine-x. I don't have the hard drive at the moment, on a laptop right now, but will see if I can grab the .r3d this week and share

Ahh nice - no wonder that light is so beautifully soft! I'd definitely love to take a look at a section of the R3D too and see what some DEB and A.D.D do to the still.

Pretty amazing that the still is not graded in any way - the red's are so vibrant in comparison to her skintones.

Lovely shot Arthur! The noise texture in this shot works very well stylistically. And to know it only gets "Better" from here with all the additional tools at our disposal, is a good thought ;)

It's my new wallpaper too. Looks great on the 24" Dell UHD monitor! The image is a bit noisy, but it adds a level of grit that fits very well. :)

Thanks Michael! I'm now forced into upgrading to Premiere Pro CC because of Dragon. My only gripe so far.

I hear ya Arthur! Ever since cameras have gone digital we are all governed by Moore's iron fist, but that's the bitter tech head talking, I need to listen more to the creative, a much more pleasant note to drown out the bickering geek inside who tries to cramp my style. lol
