Any ideas about the smallest shoulder rig available for Epic/Scarlet? Any recommendations?

The gunner looks pretty tiny... Somewhere on here Tonaci Tran posted some video of a rigged kit that looks nice and compact.

I was going to say the gunner seems like one of the better bets. You can have it be pretty small, then also add onto it if you want it bigger.

You guys are definitely the big players if you can afford almost $5000 for a way to carry a camera on your shoulder! :). Until I'm up to that level I'll stick to my Gini rig! I'll just beef it up with a proper plate.

I honestly can't recommend what I use enough. It is very inexpensive, but offers a level of flexibility and speed I just haven't seen in other options. The quality is pretty alright to good. It is strong enough to hold a whole red one setup with cine glass. And it lets me be 6 foot tall while dropping the camera lower if I want to.

the only things you need are a tripod mount plate, which you should already have, and I added a quick release on top of the shoulder rig itself. I use the manfrotto one since my current tripod is a manfrotto.

I have been shopping this stuff for awhile and have to admit, I haven't seen anything priced this low so far - and the quality looks pretty good! Interesting.

I have the CAvision stuff I'm not impressed. It doesn't put the camera where I want it. I just picked up a 12" cheese plate from filmtools and the Habbycam should pad. They connect together either by screws or if you wanted wooden camera top rods. I would love Ryan at Wooden to make a cool should mount similar to the action products one.

I have the GINI rig with the same Cavision shoulder pad as posted above. The shoulder pad is pretty crappy, actually. I need to mod it so I could put some counter weight on it, or something. I need to work on getting the rig further back as it's way too front heavy right now.

Good input... seems like we have differing impressions of the CAvision.

I am still somewhat intrigued with the Edelkrone system. Not the cheapest, but seems very well designed and built. Anyone have any hands-on experience yet?

EDIT : Here's another good Edelkrone video. This is the rig I like the most.

The gunner can be small, but I'm actually inclined to think a DSMC Quick Release system + Shoulder pad is smaller and lighter (and cheaper) than the gunner.

Especially if you put a QR system on the Gunner. Downside being you have a more forward balanced system than with the gunner which can put the body directly above the shoulder.

i also do like the allstar design. i have still the modified older plate, but its just long enough to put the Epic on the shoulder and protect at the same time the powersupplycable and sdi. For padding i use some velcro in the recessed parts of the plate and a small custom made cushion with velcro- see photo's .
The new longer design will probably be even better as its longer.
EVF mount is Woodencamera, handheld handle is an old SR handle.
Top is Viewfactor with red 19mm dmsc universal mount that is mounted a bit out of the center - if in the center of camera, the wingnuts will be annoying. Monitoring for the director is done with a Cube that is mounted under the battery.
