The reason people still use older film cameras is that they can still use the up to date stocks and lenses. Sure, the mx chip will be better than red 1. But epic will give you better frame rates and other things discussed already on this forum. Also will be smaller and lighter. Red is essentially, IMHO, a computer. Are people using computers made in 1976 ?
I know that you can use hot swap adaptors, but it means that you are keeping your camera powered up. So, you need to carry more batts, need to charge them up more as you are running them down more quickly, so their life span gets shorter, so you need to buy more batts or get the cells replaced more quickly and so on, and so on. Not so good for the environment to be replacing battery cells.
Nobody here still saw any Epic working prototype that delivering those frame rates.

Many batteries you need with any camera if you use it mobile...
Technology is "killing" environment anyway so in this case we should one day all become
Hippies, Aboriginers, members of Amazon and similar tribes, etc,.. and go to live a natural life(style) with our environment... :emote_hippie::emote_hippie::emote_hippie:
Compromise ... could be a way to go ...
