  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Controversial Commercial - Directed By Tonaci Tran - 2k DOWNLOAD AVAILABLE! MUST SEE

I call BS! Someone with those credits would have learned some tact, humility and respect over the years. Also, the use of language and sentence structure seems quite different from interviews I have read. There is no way this poster is the Phedon Papamichael.

I have to agree. Anyway, the guy was out of line, so the ban hammer came down on him. If it really is the real Phedon Papamichael, he can feel free to contact me privately with some shred of proof and we'll set him up with a new account as long as he swears that he'll take his meds and control these little outbursts.

pure little cameras ... :meh:

HAHAHHAHA.... seeing Ketch with the shovel made my day...maybe my whole week. :)

My only criticism was the color correction. Other than that.. hahahaha. The boys at c.com are having a conniption about this...

Now I need to go over to c.com and join the fun.

There are those that swear that Elvis isn't really dead either. I'm sure there will be a few film sighting reported over the next 30 years or so and eventually a shrine put up in its memory where people can come visit it.

Very funny stuff :w00t:

Merry Christmas all-"Blownapart"

I downloaded the 2k H.264 version and watched it on my pc. Is there a way to adjust the gamma on my quicktime player or some other place to set it? I think my pc or monitor is off because it was washed out. :(

Hey Ketch! I have been stuck working in the jungles of vietnam. You'll see more later when i post up some cool stuff from the recent project I worked on.

The download for the 2k version is here:

looks a world better than youtube.. hehe.

I would love to hit you up in vegas someday. Cheers my friend!

I almost envy you man, all the green vs. the desolation and dust of Vegas... well not all dust here :)

Love that stuff Tonaci, great job, really like the fill.

Really hope to see you up here, otherwise I'll have to stop by in Nam one of this days, need to take an other trip to Asia really soon, my Soul demand it.

Glad I did that for you Tom :)

Love the edit on those scenes as well as the Folly work.

ciao

I gotta say I've never see such a hyped up thread. MAN! I was expecting Platoon or something.

But as far as the commercial goes...maybe I shouldn't say I don't like it or i'll get banned too.

this spot was done all in fun.

it's not breaking any ground in terms of cinematography..believe me i know this.. from this, money went out (booking a cemetery for a day with insurance isn't all that cheap) but it was an experience builder for me. I wish I had about 100 extras, a crane, two days to shoot instead of one so i might have been able to shoot it during magic hour, the permission to dig a big giant hole into the ground (we had to cheat it in tekcin's backyard), more lighting and grip gear (we just had a couple lights and reflectors) since the dp had little to work with, a good colorist..list goes on and on.

we worked with what we had..and just did it. if anything, working with the great people made it really worthwhile. I'm taking the lessons I learned from this one to bring into my next project.

I was just on my friend's pc and noticed the same issue. I will make another version and test it so that it matches up with what I am seeing on my mac. colors should not be washed out.

Justin O'Neil showed me that you can tweak with the brightness and contrast settings in quicktime to make it more normal looking when using a pc.

either way I will look into a solution for this.

Yeah, click on 'window' then 'A/V Controls'.

Bringing the brightness down a tad makes it look a lot better.

Great job guys. Made me laugh, made me cry...okay, maybe not cry. I enjoyed it. To all the naysayers, you'll just inspire Tony to take it up a notch every time he steps on set. That one guy Phedon the imposter, otherwise known as God made me laugh too. This has been a thoroughly enjoyable thread as I wait for renders to finish.

wow this commercial looked bad
I agree with Phedon Papamichael whether its really him or not??
every thing about this commercial screams digital
Ive seen better images produced on a hvx200...
I know the red one is a capable camera,Ive seen better images than this...
but if you guys are gonna make a claim that film is dead.
At least try to make a commercial worthy enough to live up to that...
you DOP must of been asleep.
this is a real lazy effort guys:(
Im sure film will stick around for quite some time, especially when a product like this is produced...
